(I lost the stuff up until this point, but Suphi decided that since there was no one she felt like pestering at the festival, she'd go see what kind of trouble she could cause at the N'Gadanik farm! But someone interferred with her scheme..)

Payudos steps through his front door slowly, obviously beginning his disrobing as he turns north toward the rivers, oblivious to the fact that there are intruders in his lands this late at night!

Suphi's eyes widen terribly as she hears someone open the door. She bites her lip and stays still, watching the man as she shakes from cold and fright.

[Weather Report] A chilly wind blows from the west, driving dark clouds before it and blotting out the stars in patches overhead. The air is clear and elsewhere they glitter brightly in the dark sapphire sky.

<OOC> ROLL: Payudos rolls his Perception at difficulty 8 and gets 3 successes.

Payudos spins around suspiciously, scanning the area. Never know about them bears. They're everywhere. Yes, even the farmlands. Hey! What's that?! He peers over at a small section of crushed grasses among the uniform crop fields. He tilts his head and wanders toward it slowly, expecting to catch a rabbit.

Suphi gasps softly as the man nears her. She pulls her byrrus hood over her head and glances around the area for an easy escape route.

Payudos notices the human form and rocks his head from side to side, watching it. A small human form. Odd. He calls out from a close distance, "Can I help you, Mer?... Mes?"

Suphi grits her teeth, totally indecisive at this crucial moment. Should she say something, or just make a run for it?

Payudos wanders closer, watching with a stretched neck, "Hey there. Want some help?"

Suphi blurts out in an obviously disguised, abnormally high voice, "Oh no, Mer, thank you! I just wandered a lil off the road!" She turns and starts walking west quickly, tugging at the ends of her byrrus to shield her from being discovered.

Payudos follows after her slowly, "But surely you are freezing. It's mighty cold. Would you like to come inside for a moment? I'd hate to let someone just stand out here in the cold." He watches her route, "And dont go that way! You're just heading to a brothel. You'll get no sympathy there."

Suphi turns her head to glance behind her shoulder as her pace quickens. Thinking quickly, this is the best she can do. "I.. I work there! Leave me be, kind sir, I am not worthy of your.. hospitality!" Her pace becomes more of a girlish scamper as she presses on.

<OOC> ROLL: Payudos rolls his Perception + Memory at difficulty 8 and gets 1 success.

Payudos begins to recognize the form, as hidden as it may be. He knows how every Tanelish runs. Trust me. He calls out with a slight chuckle, "You work there, eh? Then surely you must be a Tanelish yourself. I'm in a good mood today, no need to run. Come, have a drink with me lil' Indigos."

Suphi stops dead in her tracks for a moment. Was she really /that/ obvious? And what is he doing calling her lil Indigos? Abandoning all reason, she continues the lie. "No... I.. I work for the Tanelishes. As a cook! And I must be getting back to the manor... they're having a special ex/treme/ly late dinner, and if I'm late they'll lock me in the pantry forever! I must go, Mer!"

Payudos slows down a bit, sighing. Yet another Tanelish running away. He calls out again, "Can I tag along? I'm a little hungry...?"

Suphi shouts back behind her shoulder, "No! Unless you like snails, I mean. That's my specialty, salted snails. Marinated in river water!" She continues, her pace quickening even more until it is a full fledged run.

<OOC> Payudos laughs.

<OOC> Suphi bats her eyelashes. Yes. Salted snails.

Payudos sighs and stops. She doesn't want to play along. Hrmph. He calls again, quieter, "Ah. I see..."

Suphi exhales deeply as she scurries out of range, her byrrus still pulled tightly about her.

Payudos calls out in the direction of the departed 'cook', "Good night, then, Mes."

Suphi stops running to glance behind her one last time. Convinced she's too far away for her features to be discerned, she sticks her tongue out with a sneer towards the N'gadanik manor.

You head west.
