A Boar in the Oshta Mansion

A young Ticanee child runs through the streets, yelling, "A monster! A monster! It knocked over the statue at the meeting grounds! It was terrible! It was huge, and black, with eyes like fiery coals and fearsome horns!" The Ticanee District erupts into chaos. "It must be a Shamibelian!" someone yells. "We're being raided!"

Anarinuell: Ticanee District -- Tribal Meeting Grounds

The wooden statue of Clan Leader Torvahl has been knocked over and bares a number of crude marks - as if somebody hacked at it with a sword.

You peek through T1 to slightly worn and battered Ticanee style tent interior - empty.

"Explain." Okatik says simply, to the already gathered crowd.

Ladonna WIELDS A STAFF! Angrily. GRRR. And there is no one here. Ladonna scowls a lot and looks around, searching for whatever-they're-looking-to-find.

Marsalos has his bow at the ready, in case of Things With Horns. He arches a brow at the fallen statue and the smell of burning, but stays back from the Ticanee group as he just casts an alert look around.

Tioran adds "couldnt have been an elk to cause such a disaster"*Firan*

Ziya looks to Marsalos and softly says, "looks like you have more than enough folks to deal with anything Lord. Mind if I head on back home?"

  • Firan*

Ladonna looks at the people who seem to be considering ...an elk. She furrows her brows and looks at the statue. Uh. Huh.

Marsalos shakes his head slightly to Tioran. "They're saying it was a boar, mer." He then nods to Ziya. "Doesn't look like the entire city's needed for this one. Thanks for tagging." *Firan*

Ziya grins at Marsalos. "Your welcome Lord." she nods at Tioran, winks at Lysiana and then saunters on off. *Firan*

Zielik spots Lysiana and moves closer to his big sister to be safe uncase this thing comes back and is hungy for child flesh.

Okatik rests his spear across one shoulder listening in silence while Sarina sets plans in motion, nodding his head from time to time in sullen agreement.

Ekenon moves into the meeting grounds, pulling his spear out with a slight bit of uncomfortableness with his left hand as his right arm is visibly bandaged and in a sling

Tioran listens to all the ticanee talk and no one minds him so off he goes

After clearing her throat, Sarina addresses the group in first Ticanee and then Firan. "This is not the work of Shamibelian raiders; we have a large, crazed boar somewhere in the district. The boar has already killed one person and done damage. Those who wish to help find the animal before it does more damage, we are going to split up into two hunting parties to search the district."

Ekenon moves then to follow Okatik.

Ladonna listens to Sarina and then all the ...Ticanee. Garbled! "Which party needs another person?" *Firan*

Ekenon looks to all who are present. "DO not try -- find this boar by yourself! Thats an order" *Firan*

Sarina nods once to Ekenon, and adds in both Ticanee and then Firan, "No one is to hunt alone! Join Okatik's hunting party or mine, or stay here and safe."

Sounds of battle are heard from the Oshta Mansion. "Catch it! Don't let it escape!" Loud squeals are plainly heard.

And into the mansion Okatik charges! "Protect the Oshtas."

Ladonna decides to follow the person who can speak Firan. Smart, that.

Nazarik, Taria's legal official says, "I announce aaaugh! Just kill it! Welcome to the throne room of Her Honor, Taria Oshta, Chieftain of the Ticanee Clan."

Sarina makes her way in at the sound of the scream, moving towards the board.

Tioran gets into position to attack the boar once he finds the animal

Ladonna is quick to engage the boar, dodging its attack swiftly. "This thing is hideous!" she declares to the world. Mark one for the anti-Boar league. *Firan*

The Ticanee guards are comically chasing a large boar around the throne room, arms outstretched as they try to catch it. "Don't let it get away! Mes Harvinia will cook it for dinner!"

Marsalos raises the bow as the others go for it with blades, aiming the arrow for the animal's throat.

--- --- -----" she snarls at him. "---- ---- -----------" To herself, she mutters, "--- ------ --- ----- -- -- - ----- --- --- ----" *Unknown*

<OOC> Ladonna fistpumps!

Taking his time, Okatik manuvers into a spot to make a stab but then... dead piggy.

Marsalos pffts, bow going down again. "---- ---- ---

" *Unknown*

Unconscious boar twitches one last time, then is still.

Tioran was about to attack but then someone hits it and the piggie falls

Zekki moves to take up a position near the private quarters. Though the animal is quickly brought down. She stays back from the rest of the crowd though, having hurried back over at the mention of the boar being /in/ the Oshta mansion. Tsk. Bad boar.

Ladonna is... well. On /fire/. She darts forward with her knife and quickly slices the animal's back. It rolls over, unconscious. The actress stands up straight, looks down, and then LIFTS HER FISTS IN THE AIR.

Ekenon looks curiously over at Ladonna when the woman catches the beast and drops it. Ekenon gives a nod to Ladonna then looks to all present, before thn moving out of the mansion to rest up to help heal his badly broken shoulder

The boar runs crazily to and fro, tossing its head with those mighty tusks wildly as it tries to find its freedom. Unfortunately, all it encounters is a wall of people. The beast skitters across the floor as it tries to change directions, and slides right into Ladonna's dagger! With a squeal of despair, it falls over dead.

"It is a bad omen." Okatik says quietly, thinking about the fallen statue outside. "Boar is displeased."

Ladonna does a VICTORY DANCE. Just 'cause.

Okatik gives Ladonna an imperious wave with one of his callused hands. "Eat the heart, Firan. Ask Boar for strength, with respect, and perhaps the anger of the ancient spirits will dim." *Firan*

Ladonna ...stops... dancing. Her hands slowly lower and she looks over at Okatik, nose wrinkled something profusely. "I.. e.. Eat... the... /heart/?!" she squeaks, eyes rather wide. "Eat... the /heart/?!?!" OH GOD. "EAT THE HEART?! .../raw/?!" *Firan*

Empyrean follows what appears to be a group of people that headed from the Estate of the Oshta, into the home. He also saw broken and fallen statues along the way.

Sarina nods to Ladonna. "That's the tradition for Ticanee hunts; the one who takes the animal down eats the heart, to take in the animal's strength." *Firan*

Marsalos slides his bow away, quirking a brow at the dead animal. He backs up and turns to head out, this now being a fully Ticanee matter in his mind.

Okatik folds his arms across his chest, and with his chin tilted slightly at it's usual haughty angle, the Bobcat looks quite unbudgable on the whole heart-eating. "Boar broke free and fell to you. You must show respect." Making an eating motion then, with hand and mouth. *Firan*

Ladonna glances sloooooooowly at Sarina and stares at the young (slightly familiar!) Ticanee woman. Oh please halp, she seems to plead to no avail. There is a slow intake of breath, cautious and shuddered, and though the Very Firan Woman cannot keep herself from looking positively revolted, she starts to bend. Ladonna stares at the boar for a while, all bloody and disgusting, then looks at the Ticanee faces around her. "I... see," she states uncertainly. The actress bends to one knee and leans over the boar. Oh, ew. OH EW. "This is... an /interest..ing/ tra...di..tion..." She wields her dagger once more and holds her nose with her free hand. Oh hell. Ladonna holds the dagger high above her, releases her nose to grab the weapon with both hands, and plunges it into the boar's chest (is that where the heart is?! Boy, we hope so!). CRUNCH. RIIIIIIIIP. Ewwwwwwww. *Firan*

Tioran recevies a message and as everything seems to be done he just heads outside

Okatik nods approvingly, saying, "Nothing happens without a reason in the Wild. Boar broke free, killed a man, showed displeasure with the statue, and now has given it's life for you, Firan woman." His eyes closing then in a thoughtfull matter as he says quietly, "These signs must be mediated upon." *Firan*

Zekki offers a nod of thanks to Lysiana as she offers to aid her in moving Soria's body. "----- ---- - -- --- ----- --- ---- -- ---- ------ - --- --- ----- ----- ------ -- ---- ----" this seems to sadden her again but she straightens, her eyes moving to Ladonna who seems ready to honor their traditions, and thus possibly appease what has been upset. *Unknown*

Lysiana turns her eyes on Ladonna again and her arms cross over her chest as well, having no intention of moving just yet. She just watches to see if Ladonna does as she is suppose to as respect. Her eyes slide to Ladonna again, watching her without a smile. *Unknown*

"Killed a woman." Okatik says, adjusting his statement after hearing Zekki, turning to her then and saying, "This Bobcat is sorry for the loss of your friend, Great Mother. But there are poorer ways to die."

Ladonna opens one eye and DEFINITELY does not look at the carcass under her. She glances at Okatik and arches a brow, "Gave it's life to me?" she asks, blindly dragging her dagger down to expose the bloodngutsnstuff of the dearly departed. "...It chose me?" Oh silly Firan. Unfortunately for Ladonna, there is no staving off the consumption of a heart via cutting any more. She opens her other eye and looks at the entrails of the animal, shudders, and recoils with the stench. You have to touch it, Ladonna. With a shaky hand, the young Chimeran reaches toward the chest... and starts fingering around in there. "Oh, Gods," she mutters under her breath. "W..hat am I looking for? a... hea.. is this it?" she holds up what is definitely NOT a heart. "Or this?" that one is. *Firan*

"Oh, Totems." Okatik corrects, quietly, obviously amused by Ladonna's squeemishness.

Ladonna stares at the Ticanee ... OH MAN. "I can't understand!" she says rather desperately. "Which is it?!" *Firan*

Zekki points again and repeats in Firan. "That one." at you know the one that is the heart. *Firan*

Ladonna drops the Not Heart Pieces and pulls the red, bloodied organ from the pig. "..Raw? Really? Raw? D..do I cut it into more manageable pieces?" Are you a Bear? "Or... get a cloth to wipe my.. mouth or something?" AKA: napkin. She looks at the Ticanee for Halp. *Firan*

Lysiana looks just as amused as Okatik by Ladonna's reactions, arms staying folded across her chest. Mimicking Zeki's actions Lysiana ponts to the heart but she makes no effort to speak to Ladonna. From her backpakc Lysiana pulls a bit of leather out then tosses it to Ladonna before a glance is given to Okatik and she grins.

Ladonna picks up the tossed leather and stares at it. What the fark!? She just looks more and more confused. So, in her vast intelligence, she constructs a Heart Burrito, made with leather. "Is that right? I eat it like.. this?" *Firan*

Zekki seems to take pity on the poor Firan, at least she's trying. "Yes child, just eat it." as Lysiana tosses the a bit of leather at Ladonna she nods. "You can use that to wipe your mouth with." a nod goes to Lysiana for her offer again of help. *Firan*

Sarina grins at Okatik, and offers a wave.

Okatik looks back over to Ladonna and advises, "Bite into it as hard as you can. Rip out a chunk with your teeth. There will -- much chewing, heart of Boar is strong." *Firan*

Ladonna frowns. "Oh, it's not... How strange. We use cotton. Or linen, if we're feeling fancy." See? Culture exchange, yo. Ladonna begins to unwrap the heart from its leathery confines, peeling it out. And lo: heart. The leather is a little icked up, though. "A..lright..." she says to Okatik, holding up the (OH GROSS) heart and bringing it to her mouth... The entire world seems to slow down as the organ approaches her face. Ladonna's jaw opens and she presses her teeth over it and.... TAKES A BITE. She looks positively disgusted. Chew. Chew. Chew. Chew. Oh man. Chew. Chew. Politely, she says, "T.. That's ... good!" *Firan* After she finishes chewing.

<OOC: ROLL: > Ladonna rolls her Willpower at difficulty 8 and gets 4 successes.

"Good. Thank Boar for the gift he has sent you, it did cost someone their life afterall." Okatik says in that quiet voice of his. "And ask Boar to give you his strength. I believe you will need it in the future, to receive such a costly blessing from the animal spirit."

Lysiana doesn't respond vocally, still, but she does mimic a wiping hands gesture in explaination..but Zekki explains it with words. Sarina is given a light wave but Lysiana seems to content with watching the Firan try to eat the heart. Back to Ladonna Lysiana looks and can't help but actually snicker at her. a few nods are given at Okatik's words but for the most part Lysiana keeps quiet, save when she is talking to the Ticanee. *Unknown*

Ladonna munches it as quickly as possible! GNAW GNAW CHOMP CHOMP. She doesn't ralph, she doesn't even slightly gag. It's pretty tasty stuff, this heart! Or she just wants to finish eating it as quickly as humanly possible. Ladonna nods in Okatik's general direction, scarfing down the non-burrito'd heart. "Like.. chicken," she asserts once she has finished. "An interesting alternative, I suppose." Pause. "Oh. Right. Um. Strength. Of a boar. ...It killed someone? That's horrible!" There's blood ALL over her face. Her hands. Her armor. She's a sight. *Firan*

Okatik seems satisfied, and goes on his way.

Zekki watches with a kind of skewed look in her eyes. Perhaps amazed that the woman is managing it so well, even though the Ticanee enjoy it. A glance to the blood covered Ladonna and she comments in Firan 'Very good, you have honored Boar by your eating of the heart.' *Unknown*

Nazarik, Taria's legal official says, "I announce Tagda.! Welcome to the throne room of Her Honor, Taria Oshta, Chieftain of the Ticanee Clan."

Ladonna wipes her hands on the little piece of leather and holds it out for Lysiana to take. Done. She gives Zekki a slight grin and stands up, "Well. I'm.. glad I honored the boar," she says fairly diplomatically. The bloodied Firan looks at herself and then around the room, "I... guess I should go ...bathe." *Firan*

Dead boar, blood covered Ladonna, who seems to have just finished eating a heart. Zekki and Lysiana who might be heading towards the door soon and Empyrean who is doing something.

Tagda arrives. With her bow and stuff. But, everything seems to be under control. The Shaman stares at the dead boar and then at the others present. And then back at the boar.

Ladonna turns to the door -- and thusly Tagda. Who looks confused. She attempts to explain, "It was loose. I killed it. And then ate it's heart." Uh huh. *Firan*

"This /boar/ is what caused all of that commotion?" Tagda asks.

Lysiana gives a satisfied nod as Ladonna eats the heart as she should. Lysiana, after all, does it each time she hunts. At Zekki's words Lysiana nods then offers her arm to the woman, not commenting on it just making the offers, "- -- ----- ---- --- ---- ----- -------" A glance is given to Tagda but that is all, Lysiana offers no words to her. *Unknown*

Ladonna nods with thinly pressed lips. "Killed someone too. And then got loose in here. From what I gathered." *Firan*

"You killed Lupos' boar?" Tagda asks this now. Darkly. "What the feck did Soria do to it? It lived in that shop for longer than I have been alive."

Zekki offers a nod of thanks to Ladonna. "Thank you for your help. You can go if you would like." *Firan*

"I didn't know it was a ...pet," Ladonna tells Tagda, glancing over her shoulder at Zekki. "It... was enraged, apparently, and on a rampage."

"It was Grandpa's boar!" Tagda blurts, obviously upset. Even if it was on a killing frenzy. Or whatever it was doing. "She must have done /something/ to make it that angry. That, or the totems are angry at something because that boar never hurt a fly in the twenty odd years it has been living there." What is the half-life of a boar anyway. "For totems' sakes." The Shaman rubs her forehead, taking this moment to calm herself. She's very attached to her missing grandfather...and this things. "Poor Penelope."

Okatik mentions to Tagda, wanting to be sure the Shaman is caught up. Motioning towards the bloody Ladonna, he explains.

Ladonna /jumps/ about a mile high! Oh dear. Tagda's upset makes her feel rather guilty and she starts wringing her bloodstained hands. "I... I don't know what happened, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to kill your grandfather's boar! I was trying to help... Oh, please don't be upset, I'm sure it lived a very .. Penelope?" Bubwha? "What a lovely name... for a boar." Ladonna pauses and wrinkles her bloody nose. And runs out of things to say. *Firan*

Lysiana gives a roll of her eyes at Tagda's reaction and slides to stand between Tagda and Ticanee, "The totem was probably displeased. There is no need to jump on the back of a Firan who had the guts to honour our traditions," this is spoken in Ticanee. To Ladonna in Firan Lysiana says, "You may go, Firan. You have honoured the spirits well." Lysiana glances to Zekki then to Tagda again before going quiet to let Zekki handle it all. Bakc to Ticanee she goes, "The boar, from things I heard was very old. You are a shaman..you should know that even the gentlest of creatures will sometimes become displeased." A wave of her hand is givne to Lysiana as she falls into Firan again, "This is among Ticanee now. Go home with your head held high."

Zekki does seem to understand but she leaves Okatik to it. "- ----

----- --- -- --- -------" she gestures to lysiana. "----- -- --- ---
---- ----" she moves towards the door, still leaning on her cane.

Apparently she doesn't have the energy for an upset Tagda at the moment.

  • Unknown*

Okatik holds up a hand before the Firan woman leaves, asking, "What is your name?" *Firan*

Ladonna turns around to address Okatik, though she makes no steps to leave, "Ladonna. Ladonna Harror." *Firan*

Tagda stares at the corpse of the boar and points to it, "Bring it to the temple. It will be burned too." Her shoulders slump a little bit, though, obviously personally upset about the manner. But, as Lysiana tries to go around dismissing others and lecturing Tagda, she lets her eyes flicker to the other woman. "Don't tell me about the totems or animals. I've been hunting since you were in the womb." Then, she turns back to Ladonna, "You did what you had to to protect the Oshta family."

Ladonna looks back at Tagda and nods, "I.. thank you for understanding. B..by your leave, then?" She waits for Tagda's Okay.

  • Firan*

Lysiana moves to Zekki and gently slides an arm around the older woman, noticing the leaning and murmurs, "---- -- --- ----- ------- -

----" Tagda is completely ignored by Lysiana as she turns her

eyes to Zekki. "- -- ----- ---- --- ----" is the comment again. *Unknown*

"Of course. Go ahead...Ladonna." Tagda isn't sure what to call her by. Rank or name. Rank or name! So she goes with name. "I am sure the Oshta family is grateful for your timeliness."

Ladonna /flees/. Flings and fleeees herself to the baths.
