Overview

A youth with a crafty look, Adelik has ice-blue eyes, chin-length straight red hair and olive skin. Adelik appears to weigh about 116 pounds and stands about 5'0" tall. Small for his age, this child has the bearing of nobility and a shade less-than-military stance. His olive skin is fine and unblemished, observant ice blue eyes staring out at the world almost defiantly from a sharply-lined face. Stoicism almost hangs about the boy like a heavy shroud, though his quick movements and rebellious slouch keep it from overly permeating his visage.

He's the eldest son of Amenik Istabelik, which means he's first in line when it comes to being the heir, with his younger brother Aethyrik being just two years younger than he is.

Background

What? Here, hold this for me. No, just hold it! Lightly! There! *SMASH*

Okay, let's slip in quickly before the guards come. Hurry up! What? No, don't be daft, I'm not a criminal-- I'm Lord Adelik Istabelik, and we're stealing a set of armor so you'd best hurry up and follow me in. Quickly!

Anyway. I am Lord Adelik Istabelik, as I said, and I'm the future God-chosen ruler of the Hydra Clan. I try not to think about it too much, for it's inevitable that I'll lead the True Warriors against our horned enemies' ranks. For now, though, I am a child, and for now, I'll do my duty to learn things by beating up the other children and teaching them to follow.

I like the idea of designing new war machines. Artillery, naval weaponry, even things for the air force. I want to build it all, and I'm going to, because only a True Warrior with God's blessing could ever hope to really make a huge impact in history. You may help, if you'd like to, because I believe in First Warrior Elachi's teaching that we are all either True Warriors or we are not. And, well, I'm not now, but I'm going to be.

Anyway! I'm almost at an age to have my Ceremony, too, and then I won't be able to hit girls for tormenting me-- I'll have to learn to reprimand them. But you? I can punch you in the face, so just grab that helmet and let's get out of here!

Personality & Beliefs

Adelik is a child of the Hydra. That is, he's a hellion, and he's happy to be a hellion while he's still both allowed and encouraged to be. He knows he's going to be Clan Leader one day, and so he varies from being something of a precocious little royal to being rather rebellious. Actually, he's mostly the latter, and more the former when he knows he needs to be to get away with something or just feels like he can be. He's not quite sure what he's rebelling against, and probably wouldn't be able to identify it at all, though he's very shrewd.

He makes plots and plans that span days, months, and weeks, and while he can get quite worked up he generally doesn't seem to let things bother him. For someone so defiant of authority he believes quite heavily in military might, the Warrior Code, and the unity of all men on the battlefield-- almost going so far as to be nearly egalitarian. In terms of men, anyway, and between True Warriors. Which he'll be one day, just as he'll be Clan Leader. Adelik speaks very verbosely and dramaticly when it's called for, though he can go whole days just grunting and staring sullenly.

Ranks & Offices

  • The Heir to the Hydra Medallion. It counts!

Accomplishments & Successes

  • A great deal, if you ask him.
  • Ditching his guards and running off to Arinzi on a whim with Princess Cersei, then not being found out for a month. That's sneaky.

Scandals & Failures

  • Running off to Arinzi on a whim with Princess Cersei also probably counts as a scandal.

Enemies

  • Lady Jaline Istabelik - Adelik makes no attempt to disguise how much he dislikes his step-mother. Even bringing up her name is enough to evoke a frown from the youth. He's constantly dodging the lessons she throws at him and won't even be subtle about it when he's looking her in the face. He's full-on rebellious against the woman, and he doesn't intend to change that.

Allies

  • Lord Quadion N'Gadanik - Sure, he's a little slow. Sure, he has a pet duck. But he's loyal and tags along with Adelik everywhere. If he needs another hand in something, he'll usually call on Quadion. Especially if it isn't something that requires very much thinking.
  • Princess Cersei Elianik - Despite the odds, Adelik has found an ally in the daughter of his father's most hated enemy (at least, that's how it seems to Adelik). Even though he's been through several lectures on how their family is not to be trusted, Adelik doesn't care much for his father's warnings. Cersei can keep up with (and even improve, although he wouldn't admit it) Adelik's plots and can keep a secret, which is more than enough for him.
  • Lady Idra Junik - His great-grandmother is full of ups and downs. But there's one thing that they both have in common: making Jaline's life miserable. That's all Adelik needs to consider her an ally. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, after all.
