Anarinuell: Civic-Center Square -- The Forum

A fire has torn through this forum, completely destroying a building to the southwest, and damaging others nearby. The market is full of smoky rugs and water-damaged goods, and fewer merchants and customers are here now. Obvious exits: The Bath House North East South West

Leonus comes in from the west. Leonus has arrived.

Leonus tromps through triumphantly, pole over his shoulder and fish held out proudly in front of him. A broad smile planted firmly on his face. "Look what I caught!" {Firan}

Karison comes in from the north.

Karison has arrived.

Aldrikos stands amidst the emptier-than-normal marketplace, a critical eye on the fire damage. He blinks and looks over as he's presented with a fish. "Aye, a fish! Good work, lad." {Excellent Firan}

Leonus is busy showing off his neat fish to every body. "Not just any fish, /My? fish!" {Firan}

Ceylin comes in from the west.

Ceylin heads east.

Karison nods to the large soldier, and to the little boy, by her look, she's as common as the dirt under her feet, and she seems headed in the direction of the Inn.

Leonus then looks at the fish critically. "It's kinda smelly though. Do you think I should wash it?" {Firan}

Leonus looking to the baths with question in his eyes, waving the fish around as he talks and gestures, unwittingly spraying any who happen to be in attendance with fish goo.

Aldrikos nods, seemingly rather agreeable to the kid's enthusiasm concerning his angling accomplisment. "So it is, so it is." He scratches his head. "Well, I'm not quite an expert on fish, lad. You probably should clean it, true." {Excellent Firan}

Karison peers, "Ain't none o' me business, course, but, ain't ye a bit young t' be out an about en the market place thes time o' night?" she asks Leonus, loudly, so Aldrikos can hear her. {Excellent Firan}

Leonus nods assertively. "Yup. It's kinda smelly. You think I should use soap?" {Firan}

Leonus scoffs at Karison. "I can be out if I want to. My Father, Lord Teranzik said so." {Firan}

Karison shrinks back a bit at the mention of Lord Teranzik, and quiets down a bit. "Well, ye jes be careful now, ye hear?" With that, she scurries off. {Firan}

Karison has left.

Karison heads north.

Aldrikos says, "Well, cleaning refers to more removing the bones an inedibles from the fish, not really using soap..." He nods at Karison. "Aye, lad, you should consider taking your fish home for the night." {Firan}

A herald passes by and shouts, "It's Firan time: 01:00:52 AM on Sun Aug 13, in the year 16 A.U., and The High Priestess wishes to remind all Firans to worship inside temples and to follow the prescribed rules of devotion so as to render the proper respect to the deities who have preserved our nation and indeed, our very lives."

Leonus frowns, waving off the bedtime comments. "You mean you have to take out the bones and clean them?" Clearly confused and looking at him in imploring saucer eyes. {Excellent Firan}

Aldrikos shrugs somewhat cluelessly. "I think that that is what is done, aye. I cannot say that I have ever done it, myself. Now then, it's time for you to consider going to bed, young one. You said that your father was Lord Teranzik, aye? {Firan}

Leonus waves it off again. "Really, He said I could stay out as long as I stay out of trouble." nods assertively. {Firan}

Kami comes in from the north.

Kami has arrived.

Kami walks into the forum, frowning some but then, seemingly thinking to herself, she smiles widely and moves on south.

Kami has left.

Kami heads south.

Leonus stands, looking critically at his fish, watching it flop against his hand. "It's starting to get stiff. Is that bad?" {Excellent Firan}

Leonus ew's, wiping his slimy hand on his toga. "Are you sure I shouldn't go clean this with soap?" {Firan}

Aldrikos says, "Aye, that may be so. But trouble often finds those who seek it not. The forces of lawlessness seek the cover of darkness to attempt their nefarious..." He blinks, just as he's warming up into another one of his lectures. "Well, it -is- dead, you know." {Firan}

Leonus waves off yet another of the silly 'go to bed' speaches. "Yes yes...but, are you sure it should get stiff? I mean, I could probably play paddle ball with this soon." Flopping it for effect. {Firan}

Leonus thinks carefully, ten year old brows furrowed thoughtfully. "Will it come to life if I put it back in water?" {Firan}

Aldrikos says, "Nay, what's dead is dead, I am afraid. There's no reviving a landed fish." {Firan}

Leonus frowns. Looking up curiously. "Have you ever tried it?" {Firan}

Aldrikos says, "Tried bringing a fish back to life? Uh, nay. I should think it would be common knowledge how to do so if you could do it, however." {Firan}

Leonus taps the fish on his leg thoughtfully. "Well, I wonder if /anybody/ has ever tried it." gets a mischievious grin on his face. "I think we should." Begins to move quickly to the bath house. {Firan}

Leonus grins from the bath house steps. "Coming, Lord Ista Aldrik?" {Firan}

Leonus flops the fish at him, then disappears into the baths.

Leonus goes through the the bath house.

Leonus has left.

Aldrikos watches the little kid wander off somewhat quizzically until he realizes a bit belatedly where the kid's heading. "Hey! Halt!" he calls out.

You go through the the bath house.

Anarinuell: The Bath House -- Main Entrance

You go into the men's bathing area.

Anarinuell: The Bath House -- Men's Bath

Contents: Leonus Obvious exits: Out A towel girl collects your fee of 2 stenis. Bath attendants welcome Aldrikos to the baths and offer to take his clothing.

Aldrikos strides in past the towel girls, looking vaguely scandalized. "Halt, juvenile delinquent!" he commands. "Your shenanigans come to an end!" {Excellent Firan}

Leonus carefully looks around, fish hidden behind his back, whispering to Aldrikos. "Hush. You'll make them suspicious." Shushing him softly as he gages the distance to the nearest old looking fart in the baths. {Firan}

Aldrikos shouts, "I most certainly shall!" He points at Leonus. "Look out, citizens! Your peaceful baths are being waylaid by a vandalizing hooligan!" Not to mention Aldrikos's shouting, at that. {Excellent Firan}

Leonus balks "Aldrikos! Why that's absurd! I don't have an fish." Nodding petulantly. then pales, realizing no one mentioned fish yet. "Wait, I mean...I mean, I don't have anything to vandalize....you know.." trailing to a quiet, defeated voice. "Like fish." letting the fish flop in his hand to the side, looking dismayed at Aldrikos. "You're no fun at all." Stomps his foot in a small pout. {Excellent Firan}

Aldrikos thrusts a commanding finger of justice at Leonus! (Everything seems to be a titanic battle between good and evil around Aldrikos.) "Give yourself up, young agent of chaos! Your prankish schemes are being put to bed!" {Excellent Firan}

Leonus blinks, then gives him a slightly amused look. "Agent of Chaos? Really, Aldrikos. That's a bit absurd isn't it?" Flopping the fish at him, incidentally spraying fish goo at him. {Firan}

Leonus giggles as the fish spatters the shiny armor. "Better go take a bath, Aldrikos." snickering behind his hand. {Firan}

Aldrikos says, "We shall see what is absurd and what is not when you released to your family from custody!" He seems unfazed by the goo. "Not even the trickery of a fish can impede the dual mandates of justice and public order." {Excellent Firan}

Leonus stomps his foot again. "Oh, come on Aldrikos. I wasn't going to hurt anybody." Jutting his lip out just a little. "Can I /please/ stay out just a /little/ longer?" {Firan}

Leonus attempts to beg Aldrikos to let me stay out for one more hour..

Aldrikos leans forward sternly, hands on hips. "And leave your impetutous assaults on the populace with dead aquatic creatures unchecked? Nay, such villany will not be tolerated while Aldrikos stands guard!" {Excellent Firan}

Leonus stomps his foot. "But Aldrikos...I promise, I won't throw the fish at anybody." Nodding innocently. {Excellent Firan}

Leonus flopping the fish to the ground for effect.

Leonus drops the pike.

Aldrikos says, "You, lad, are unruly and volatile. Surely you are cranky from a lack of sufficient rest." He kneels down to pick up the fish, gaze impacable on the boy. "After I confiscate your weapon of havoc (is he talking about a dead fish?) you will be escorted directly to your estate." {Firan}

You pick up the pike.

Leonus sighs, restructuring his noble airs. "Of course, Lord Ista Aldrik. The Nights are indeed treacherous. A noble escort such as yourself would make me feel ever so much safer on my journey home." Loud enough so every one can hear. {Firan}

Aldrikos straightens up with a hmm, eyeing Leonus like nothing so much as four foot something of dubious moral character. "Aye, the guard is here to serve the citizenry," he agrees, although his suspicions don't seem to have left to go anywhere else. "Lead the way, if you will." {Firan}

Leonus nods, raising his nose ever so slightly into the air. "You are most kind to offer your services, Lord Aldrikos." {Excellent Firan}

Leonus with that, he sweeps around imperiously, as only a ten year old can and swaggers arrogantly out the door.

You leave for the Bear District.

Anarinuell: Teranzik Estate

Leonus arrives from Anarinuell: Teranzik Manor -- Courtyard.

Leonus has arrived.

Leonus turns and huffs at him. "Can I have my fish back?" Hands on hips petulantly. {Firan}

Aldrikos is standing outside the estate, arms folded dourly. "Nay, your fish has been impounded." {Excellent Firan}

Aldrikos says, "Consider it your material penance for your ignoble effrontry." {Excellent Firan}

Leonus blinks, then turns his mouth in amused corners. "You impounded a fish?" trying to hold in a snicker. "Oh dear. Well, I sure hope it doesn' ru--er, flop away from you." flushing deeply as he holds his breath to hold in the laughter. {Firan}

Aldrikos manages to look somewhat superior, as all true agents of justice and order are. "I think I shall not have to worry about that happening," he replies placidly. "Good night, Lord Leonus," he concludes somewhat promptingly. {Firan}

Leonus chuckles anyway, just waving at the man. "Good night, Aldrikos...have ..." snickers "fun with my fish." {Firan}

Leonus walks through the gate, his childish laughter heard all the way to the manor

Leonus goes through the teranzik manor.

Leonus has left.

Aldrikos looks at the fish gravely. "It is a sad thing, when a Firani will slay an animal merely for his own chaotic whims. Hopefully the lad will mature out of his minor evils." So narrated, he strides off into the palace district again, tossing the fish to a passing wandering dog. {Excellent Firan}
