Overview
Lord Aldrin Ista Aldrik, Member of House Ista Aldrik, royal family of the Bear Clan. He is the firstborn child of Her Honor Fidelia Ista Aldrik making him a heir to the throne. His society however is female dominated, a fact that will keep him from becoming a Clan Leader. You might think this would lead to frustrations but Aldrin is loyal and kind-hearted, a believer in the supremacy of Ista Aldrik women. So while they lead, this Ista Aldik Lord has sworn to use his great courage and gallantry to keep them safe and see the Bear Clan to a Golden Age.
As a boy, Aldrin was an infamous trickster- full of mischief, formulating pranks, plotting havok; a roaming force of chaos. Since his Ceremony of Souls however he's gained much more control over that aspect of himself, capable of turning it on or off depending on the seriousness of the situation he's in. With age he's become a commanding presence with a strong love of honor and duty; a very traditional man. Still 'The Trickster' part of him remains, usually playful to be sure, but also honed by time and experience into a weapon to be used against enemies of his beloved family.

Protecting the Bear Clan is of great importance to Aldrin and he's passionate about seeing his sentries be the best they can be.
Centurion, Republic First Division
Aldrin leads a squad of Guards for the Republic. He gives his sentries a long leash so that they have every opportunity to prove themselves and rise in the ranks; under the stipulation that they work hard to improve their ability to investigate and defend Anarinuell from Shamibelian raiders. His own investigating technique has been called 'specific and detailed' by his commanding officer.

Her Honor Fidelia Ista Aldrik
Aldrin's mother, Her Honor Fidelia Ista Aldrik, is the ruler of the Bear Clan. She has never hidden from him her disappointment that he was not a girl, but he also has no doubt that she loves him. He tiptoes about the fury of her affection as if it were a vase he is afraid to break, because above all things he fears disappointing her; and when the mask slips and he sees personal hurt on her face -- it is too much for him to bear.
Lord Halakeye Ista Aldrik(deceased)
Lord Halakeye was a Gold Dragon royal, wed to his mother to seal a peace treaty, and died when Aldrin was a toddler. Knowing little more about his father than the sword and armor that Fidelia kept in a trunk, Aldrin now wields that blade to keep House Ista Aldrik safe.
Siblings
Lady Sabiana Ista Aldrik
Sabiana is Aldrin's nearest and dearest. She is less than a year and a half younger than him and thinks of her as his best friend. In many ways they are complete opposites -- Aldrin is mischievous, Sabiana well-behaved; Aldrin direct and outspoken, Sabiana shy and hinting; Aldrin loud and Sabiana -- well, Sabiana believes words are optional. He would not believe the slightest evil of her, and would do anything to protect her.
Lady Julea Ista Aldrik
Six years younger than him, Julea is Aldrin's half-sister. She seems to have a sense of mischief and adventure that appeals to him, though he doesn't know her that well just yet. She is his blood, and helpless, and so Aldrin is extremely protective of her.
Marriage
It's been announced that Aldrin will marry Lady Nilara Teranzik following her Ceremony of Souls and a 3 month courtship.
Children
Aldrin has no legitimate children.
Accomplishments
Serving in Ellish
In the Fall of 43 A.U., serving with the Republic's fifth division, Aldrin volunteered and was sent to Ellish as a security specialist by Dame High Priestess General Alexa. On one mission he was part of the team that included Prince General Argin, Lord Commander Rikon, Lord Commander Rodiste, Commander Rinzik, Lady Cenurion Nyla, High Priestess Karana, and Mes Anorna. This mission was to secure a foothold in the North Gate Area of the city held by the Eesani Gang lead by Mer Thalos. The Republic gained control over the area following negotiations, opening the door to further missions to secure and defend the region.

Lord Gadiste N'Gato(deceased)
Princess Commander Akiva Elianik is Aldrin's cousin and one of the smartest people he knows. She also has scars on her cheeks, the legacy of her being kidnapped by the Hydra Gadiste N'Gato when she was young. He'd have liked to have been the one to kill Gadiste.
Lady Gellina Ista Aldrik(deceased)
Gellina was Aldrin's aunt and was always very nice and sweet to him and the other children. She even smiled and laughed, rare traits among the Ista Aldriks. One day however she called Fidelia a liar before of all of Anarinuell; unforgivable in Aldrin's eyes. Gellina went on to die in the Great Blizzard of 37, and although Aldrin misses her a little, he is also secure in the knowledge she deserved it.
Allies
Lady Endeera Shadina
Endeera is Head of House Shadina, manager of Aldrin's tackleball club; the Roaring Bears, and most importantly a legendary master of etiquette. She's a fountain of good advice, highly intelligent, and very respected by him. Recently Lady Shadina has been teaching Aldrin how to better control his fiery temper.
Sir High Priest Commander Parosh Dilarik
Parosh Dilarik is a Sharanir of the Bear Clan, leader of the Bear Royal Guard, a Commander of the Republic Army, and the High Priest of Unot. He's also the man that Fidelia asks for when something needs doing. He's dreadfully old and very fierce, but seems to have a care for Aldrin. As it should be. His loyalty to the Ista Aldrik family is unquestioned and is one of Aldrin's most valued advisors.
Dame High Priestess Cyrilla Daedalus
Another of Aldrin's advisors, Cyrilla Daedalus is a Sharani of the Bear Clan, a minister, and also the High Priestess of Kamnestra. She cooks at the Ista Aldrik Estate and also runs things around the mansion. Her service, and that of her family, is held in very high value. Aldrin unreservedly adores her.
Centurion Eriden Verber
Eriden Verber is a Royal Guardsman of the Bear Clan and the CO of all archers with the Republic Army. He is also Aldrin's right-hand man. Tasks that can be delegated off are usually given to Eriden; he's earned that trust. During important moments Aldrin prefers to have Eriden by his side, finding the Centurion's different perspective and insights valuable.
Scandals
Marriage Announcement to Nilara Teranzik
Fidelia's announcement that Aldrin would be marrying Nilara Teranzik, and that the bride-to-be would become a member of House Ista Aldrik, created quite the stir among citizens of the Bear Clan. While the people believed that an Ista Aldrik-Teranzik wedding is a natural pairing, in this case, the belief that Nilara's mother, Lady Xamori Teranzik, had no Teranzik blood herself caused an uproar. Thankfully no riots took place, primarily because Aldrin is a boy, and thus not highly thought of in Bear culture. Some believed that Xamori's position as one of the city's Neo Nobles, famously so, and the recent adoption and ennoblement of the legendary hero Lord Donos Ista Aldrik's bastard daughters served as factors in adding to the people's resentment of this marriage announcement.
Miscellany
Habits
- Grammar -- Aldrin doesn't always use proper grammar, giving him an unusual way of expressing himself at times. He's certainly well educated, so either doesn't care about always using the correct words or simply enjoys doing this to mess with people.
- Pranks -- Big pranks, small pranks, Aldrin loves them all. Tricking people is great sport under the right circumstances, and sometimes leads to one of his very rare smiles. Even whole cities have been the targets of his tricks.
- Aldrin Defers to the Ladies -- Respect for women has been indoctrinated into him until it is instinctive. He defers to ladies, and is devout and hotheaded in defense of their honor, especially women of his family.
- Respect of the Gods -- Aldrin is very respectful of the Gods, especially Unot, when it comes to his plans and actions. Even certain tricks have been shelved in the past, when he believed they came too close to being disrespectful to the deities of the Firan realms. While he has no plans to become a priest at this time, the spiritual world does help to guide him.
Likes
- Sabine Ista Aldrik -- Great Aunt Sabine, Clan Leader of the Bear Clan, and Queen of the Firan realms. She is a hero of Aldrin's and set only a little lower than the Gods themselves in his eyes. Though Sabine left before he was even born, Aldrin remembers her, a regal presence with kind eyes. Some people think he's making that up but Aldrin swears that it's true.
- Loincloths -- When Aldrin was a little boy he use to play with the late Dame Urtenia of the Ticanee Clan during Festival events. She gave him the battered old horse doll, he still has today, that would fight against Urtenia's own spinyfish doll, Rasmus. She was a lot of fun. When the old healer went to Unot she requested that all men at her funeral wear loincloths, which the young Aldrin did, and since then... loincloths are fun sometimes.
- Tackleball -- Best sport ever. Seems it was designed by the Griffon Clan to keep their soldiers fit when fighting wasn't taking place. It certainly does that. Aldrin is currently a member of the Roaring Bears.
- Raspberry Glazed Cakes -- Food of the Gods, Aldrin will tell you. His favorite dish.

- Ferrets -- Ferrets are always bad.
