Official Statement
I'm Lord Aldrin Ista Aldrik, but my slave name is Aldrin Vasaloo. Scithvor calls himself my master. And it's true that I went mad with grief and anger when they killed my mother last night. As should you all have, but you stood and watched her die, because they've made us less than men. No, given how we behaved, I'd say that the killer would almost certainly have to be a woman, and what about Perdita here. She was the bastard's slave and I'm sure he gave her countless reasons.
Background
Aldrin has not had it easy since becoming a slave in Anarinuell. Having to watch their leaders be sacrificed to Obala has driven him to the edge, and last night, he may have gone right over it. The bastards slit his mother's throat and drained her blood into a cauldron before throwing her body onto the rot pile at the catacombs--or what used to be known as the Palace.
Aldrin swore he would avenge his mother, and somehow, he will. He sees himself as a new moral authority, and a new leader who will help lead his people from bondage.
Relationships
- Scithvor -- Aldrin's Master.
- Akiva -- Aldrin's dear cousin, whom he loves very much.
- Emma -- Aldrin is madly in love with Emma, even though their parents were enemies and his mother did not approve.
- Inaya -- She's one of Scithvor's other slaves, and Aldrin thinks she's gone round the bend.
- Fara -- She's a full Shamibelian slave girl, and very favored by Scithvor. Aldrin doesn't trust her.
- Fissia -- Aldrin's former mistress until Scithvor divorced her.
- Tatomir -- Aldrin hates this Priest of Obala and everything he stands for.
Goals
- Retrieve and burn Fidelia's body before they can make a Skull of Fidelia Cup out of her.
- Prevent Inaya from laying claim to be the High Priestess of the Firan Realms, as she is wont to do, or she will be the ruin of everyone.
- Kill Inaya for turning her back on the Gods.
- You're sure that none of Hralib's slaves killed Hralib, and must prove it, to save Emma.
- Prove that Tatomir killed Hralib.
- Let the incriminating documents about Tatomir fall into the right hands
- Find a way to see and protect Emma now that she's safe from Hralib
- Check on cousin Akiva and find out if she's ok
- Make sure Akiva isn't up to anything that would violate Unot's laws against desecration

Aldrin Round One
Round One Reveal
Aldrin considers himself not just Fidelia's political heir, but her religious heir, 'High Priest of the Firan Realms' now that she is gone. Would he sully his holy hands with murder?
Aldrin knows that Tatomir believes that he can 'resurrect' people from the dead, using Obala's power. Tatomir even believed that if he could resurrect someone powerful, like a Shamibelian Governor, that he would ensure himself lasting fame and glory with Obala, and would be justly rewarded. What if, infused with the power from the human sacrifices he attempted to do just that with Hralib, and it somehow went wrong?
That's odd--isn't Tatomir missing his sacrificial knife? Was it found at the scene of the crime? Is Hralib or Throgana stabbed anywhere? Aldrin bets they were!
Everyone knows that when Anarinuell was first captured, Savaren refused to kneel in supplication and abase himself before the conquerors, saying they could kill him if they wanted to. Hralib killed his brother Rislan instead, to punish him for his insolence, right in front of his eyes. Savaren has never gotten over it.
Everyone knows that Hralib kept Savaren's wife, Princess Teonia as a slave, and violated her publicly. Savaren swore revenge. Maybe he finally got it.
Everyone knows that Savaren considered it a personal affront that Hralib let his slave girl Throgana walk around wearing the Ranivor's medallion as jewelry. He'd have killed her to get it.
Everyone knows that Lucas used to be a Prince, and was thought to be a candidate to be the next Ranivor before Anarinuell was conquered. No doubt, he wants to prove to himself that he still has some power, and what better way to do that than to kill Hralib, the Governor of Anarinuell, and his all-too-willing slave.
Everyone knows that Lucas was horrified that Hralib was burning all the scrolls in the Great Library. He feared that his Elianik family history would be lost, just like what happened to the Sennets. He said that no Shamibelian deserved to die more than Hralib, because he killed more than people, he killed history.
Round One Conceal
Aldrin was enraged when Hralib gave up Fidelia to Tatomir to be sacrificed at the Night of Obala's pride, and just before her throat was slit, called to her that she would be avenged. What son wouldn't have?
It's true that Aldrin in love with Emma and was viciously jealous of Hralib touching her, but such jealousies are a fact of life when living in Occupied Anarinuell where every goat considers it his Obalan given right to rape women.
Emma is so good at her beautician work that she was close to being able to buy her freedom. Maybe she was afraid that Hralib wouldn't let her go, so she killed him.
Hralib took Emma's virginity--but she didn't seem to resent it as much as she should have. She really should have wanted him dead.
In fact, Aldrin feared Emma would become a Shamibelian collaborator if she stayed with Hralib much longer and was convinced he needed to save her soul.
Aldrin has recently come into a great deal of money, and is thinking of using it to buy Emma's freedom.
Aldrin has been intending to cause trouble for Tatomir for a year now. Others focus on Hralib, but Aldrin feels that only striking at Obala will bring down the Shamibelian Empire. To that end, he had Akiva draw up some forged documents that make Tatomir look very guilty. He has some copies, which he needs to let fall into the right hands.
Akiva has been running a very lucrative underground permit forgery operation. If Hralib was about to uncover it, Akiva would have had to kill him to save her own life.
Akiva has been asking religious questions about whether or not Unot would be angry if, say, someone were to chop off a small limb, or finger, of a Shamibelian and eat it.
Aldrin has been secretly burning the bodies of human sacrifices to Obala with proper Firan funeral rites, and that is why he often has ashes upon him.
Aldrin has theorized that using a firebomb on the palace could burn all the bodies at once, and they can give them proper funeral rites.
Aldrin converted Ruffialo to the Firan religion. He was constantly fearful that Hralib would find out. Maybe Hralib did find out, and Ruffialo had to kill him to shut him up. (May reveal to trustworthy Firans without prompting.)

Aldrin Round Two
Round Two Reveal
Fara returned from the Night of Obala's Pride scratched up, and bleeding, saying she'd been bitten by Fissia's dog Spike. What if she was with Hralib when the dog attacked?
Hralib was trying to intervene on Fara's behalf, to win her freedom from Scithvor, so it's unlikely she would have killed him on purpose. But Aldrin once overheard Fara fantasizing aloud that if she could only find Hralib in great distress, and save his life, surely some woman would take pity on her, gift her land for her heroism, and it would guarantee her freedom! What if she set up a situation in which she could 'save' Hralib, but things went awry.
Fara intended to get pregnant by a full-blooded Shamibelian male, because if she gave birth to a pure-blooded son, it would strengthen her claim to freedom and make it easier for her to steal Hralib away from her mother.
Aldrin knows that Fissia brought that stupid dog Spike to the Night of Obala's Pride. Hralib had a scratch mark and a missing finger--maybe Fara isn't the only one that Spike attacked.
Vitara Pevifa, Hralib's wife, is an extremely jealous woman. She disowned her own daughter, Fara, and condemned her to slavery, because she worried that Hralib might favor her. Recently, she found out that Hralib was campaigning to set Fara free, and this could have sent Pevifa right over the edge. She might have killed him for it.
After sacrificing Taleo and Taria to Obala during the early days of the occupation, Hralib made skull cups out of them. Empyrean has been determined to get ahold of both of them, and give them proper funeral rites. To that end, Empyrean has been using forged permits to stalk Hralib and try to catch him at a time when his eye was not on the Taleo-Skull goblet. Empyrean kept a keen eye on Hralib during the Night of Obala's Pride.
Aldrin can't really blame Empyrean if he killed Hralib--after all, Hralib made goblets out of his parents' skulls after they were sacrificed. What son can abide the wanton murder of their parents and not take revenge?
Ladonna has such a gift for writing mean little songs about people that Shamibelian war lords were paying her to write them about their rivals. That's the kind of thing that can sew dissension in the ranks of the Shamibelian army really fast.
Jalil vehemently objected to the mentoring role that Throgana took in teaching his daughter Emma to be a good slave.
Aldrin is positive that Hralib died in the Great Library--not in the Temple District. Don't ask him how he knows. Aldrin is from a very religious family. He just has instincts about things from time to time.
Round Two Conceal
Aldrin has been exerting more and more influence over Ruffialo, and got him to steal Tatomir's sacrificial knife, so that he could plant it at the scene of the crime.
Ruffialo made a deal with Aldrin--if he would help find the missing firebombs and keep his mouth shut about Ruffialo's conversion, he'd give him a token of his mother's death--the bloody knife that killed her. The one that belongs to Tatomir.
Aldrin actually has no idea where the missing Shamibelian firebombs are, but he is determined to find out.
Aldrin did follow Hralib on the Night of Obala's Pride. He found him in the Great Library where he was having violent sex with Throgana. He was apparently raping her, because she came running out of the library screaming "Help!"
After Aldrin saw Throgana run out of the Great Library, yelling "Help!" he peeked his head in to see what was going on, and saw Hralib alone. He confronted Hralib who was scratched up, like he'd been attacked by an animal. He still had all his fingers though, and his keys.
While Aldrin and Hralib had words, Aldrin stole Hralib's money pouch. But Aldrin did leave Hralib a Ring of Hate in exchange. Fair is fair, after all.
Hralib had his keys with him when he came upon him in the Great Library at 12:30AM.
The friends who woke Aldrin on the Night of Obala's Pride were Empyrean and Torianos, who made animal noises and threw rocks at his side of the tent until he got curious.
Late the Night of Obala's Pride, Aldrin did sneak into the Temple District and perform religious rituals in Unot's Temple with Empyrean and Torianos.
In point of fact, Aldrin performed proper funeral rites for Taleo Teranzik, when Empyrean delivered the Taleo-Skull-Cup that he'd stolen from Hralib earlier that evening.

Aldrin Round Three
Round Three Reveal
Jalil gave him Tatomir's Ring of Hate as a gesture of his blessing over the romance between Aldrin and Emma.
Round Three Conceal
Aldrin stole Hralib's money pouch off of his dead body, after he killed him by pushing him into the fire at 12:30AM.
Aldrin threw Hralib into the Great Library fire place, with the burning scrolls. So much for the vaunted strength and invincibility of Shamibelians--Aldrin killed him without breaking a sweat.
Afterwards, Aldrin planted Tatomir's sacrificial knife on Hralib's body in the Great Library to incriminate Tatomir and also left the incriminating documents behind--though somehow they, and Hralib, got moved.
