Overview
ANIKOS AURIK
Anikos Aurik started life on June 26th, in 3 A.U, in Caldera City. Though he grew up in a time of trials and danger, most of it occurred while he was too young to remember. Anikos, was smart, talented, and proud. He had a stable and loving family, though much of their antagonism came in the form of the rivalry with the Istariniads ('news family feud' on the game). Anikos grew up under the shadow of his grandfather Baristano Aurik, but came out from his father and grandfather's shadows when he came to fame as a First Division guard, uncovering a suspected treasonous circle led by Coran Emista.
Anikos was a center of the Aurik family for much of his adult life, always socially and politically active, he brought them much fame and much infamy, organizing and manipulating politics, on not just a personal scale but with the whole of the family's power behind him. All of it was not good especially when the leadership of the Gold Dragon Clan came into question. The Auriks were stripped of their land and claim to nobility when Anikos and his brother Sett both were punished with a traitor's mark for their involvement in a Gold Dragon Civil War. Still despite that he overcame the stigma and was known as a loving father, a hard devoted pilot, and a Sharanir for his clan, which later brought their claim to nobility back, along with some plots of land.
Making his name as being exceptional in skill with both archery and swordsmanship, he trained many of the archers, and pilots and, it's said, even Sir Commander Unsel Gadinik. In the end, even if he was not liked by all he was respected as being skilled and talented in many things including teaching, archery, swords, and mass organization, amongst others. Never shying from using his understanding of people to push the goals he believed in. His reputation and talents earned him the rank of Commander of the Fourth Division, pushing him in his lifelong goal towards being a pilot of one of the Giant Eagles.
Anikos died on Oct 16, 33 A.U, during the Firan Forum Massacre (See also: Anikos' Folly). After being injured, he responded to the Lord Viceroy Taleo Teranzik's orders to report on the actions. Following his report he was quickly ordered back into the fray by the Viceroy. Returning to try and put a stop to the rampaging griffons, Anikos fell in the ensuing chaos. In the aftermath of these events his Sharanir title was stripped from him and his lands handed to the Eagle Clan in an attempt at recompense. Hero or villain, Anikos is survived by his loving spouse Yrenia, and children Anteros, Recis, Vesia, Yesina, and Marcarius.
