Background
The Anirik Family, like many Griffon Clan families, largely refused to flee before the Shamibelian invasion that started the Great War - a single member of the bloodline, Agarn, was sent north into the Caldera City for his own safety, as he was too young to fight. Agarn's parents were taken as slaves back to Ellish - his mother was used as a pleasure-slave, and when his father objected, he was killed in cold blood.
After seventeen years of being apart, the family was reunited when Prince Vahlgellan Elianik found her and rescued her from the master that had claimed her life. Agarn became a legendary war hero in his own right, gaining great esteem and prestige as a General in the Republic military, and
Sir Agarn died on Sat Jun 24, 22 A.U, in the annual war campaign to retake Ellish, when Carnotti and Shamibelians both attacked Fort Sacrifice. It is said that when he died, Srenna herself came down and smited the Carnotti and drove back the Shamibellians, encircling his body protectively with a ring of blue fire. Agarn's wife, Kerasha, raised their two children among the Ticanee, which was her own clan. Her Honor Taria later arranged that Kerasha should become a part of the Dawn Family, and ennobled through marriage to Radik Dawn. Zhara and her younger brother Srennik were not adopted into the Dawn family formally, as their Firan blood did not allow for such measures.
When Agarn's children came of age, they were able to choose which clan to join as citizens. Srennik choose the clan of his father, the Griffons, while older sibling Zhara choose that of her mother, the Ticanee. With these decisions, the family became officially split between the two clans. Further splitting occurred when Srennik married Lady Carana, and became ennobled through that marriage. After what seemed an interminable courtship, Taria allowed Zhara to marry the Eagle pilot Zaqik Bazyli, who died almost immediately after their marriage in the following war season. By that time, Zhara was already a few weeks pregnant, and after returning from the brutal war season without her husband, had and raised their son Zadrin on her own.
While Zhara did not remarry immediately, scandal rocked the family and Lord Srennik was sentenced and exiled with purpose to the Bonduin lands. While he was absent, the family underwent massive changes in structure and clan. Zhara did marry again, choosing Deiphobus Marcus of the Chimeran clan. First, Her Honor Luna judged that the noble Aniriks Lady Carana and Lord Srennik become members of the Ista Zayes house. Lord Judanus then judged that the Ista Zayes house was to be dissolved completely, and the two former Aniriks became members of the noble Sennet house. Lastly, Ticanee Proxy Lady Taleena Oshta judged that the Anirik family, now entirely non-noble, was to be headed by Zhara Anirik.
As a family leader, Zhara has worked hard to solidify family tradition and restore honor to the Anirik name. It started with her second marriage to Deiphobus, which occurred during the start of the war season of 38 A.U., at the Firan Fortress. Lord High General Primo Dawn was the one to marry them, stating in the ceremony that this was especially meaningful to the Anirik family and the Firan people, as the legendary swordsman Sir General Agarn had wed his bride Kerasha in the same place, in the same manner.
Deiphobus and Zhara currently live at Dawn Manor, but still hold control of Anirik Acres, Anirik Manor, and the familial land. They own and operate the very successful Flaming Arrow Stables, which produces fine equines for racing and riding. Their children Lupus (adopted), Kagi (adopted), Zadrin, Deiran, Deina and Drayk live with them and all carry the Anirik name.
The family colors are royal blue and emerald green, signifying both the sacred blue-green flames of Srenna and the shifting color of Zin's waters.

Scandals
Lord Srennik refused to reenlist in the military, citing that he would be working on a special project to breed horses for the cavalry. Lord Viceroy Taleo judged that this excuse was a farce, and that Lord Srennik lied to cover up his reasons for leaving the military in order to save his reputation, as well as misrepresented himself as a Republic official. The family was fined ten million stenis and Lord Srennik was conscripted for a period of ten years.
Clan Leader Luna then judged that in the course of Lord Srennik's lies to escape culpability for his rash, dishonorable decision to escape the military, he attempted to drag the name of a Proxy through the mud. He was exiled with purpose: he was to travel far and bring back a mating pair of elephants from the Bonduin lands. He did not in fact return with elephants, but returned having escaped from Shamielian slavery.
