Overview
Argin is the second son of Sadin and Lucretia, and the youngest of their union. He's known as something of a millionaire party prince, often dragging himself out of bed late in the day after staying out the entire previous night. It's no surprise that he has alot of stenis, being of royal birth, but he is the prince that loves to spend that stenis. He loves to throw lavish parties, and even if he's not the host he'll often be the one buying drinks for everyone in the room. He loves to get drunk, and he loves to fight. Most of the time, the two activities go hand in hand. It's no secret that Argin loves women, and it's a rare sight for him to be seen without a pretty girl or three on his arm. Some have said that he takes after his father in this regard. Argin is a man's man, and seems to perfectly embody the public perception of a womanizing, brawling, drinking, movie star prince.
Argin has a fair number of responsibilities given his social status, and he seems to take to them with a vicious determination. He likes to get things done, and get them done quickly, likely so that he can get back to partying. Despite being a social creature, Argin distinctly believes in the separation of social classes, and will be the first to remind any commoner of his or her place when they step out of line. Ever since he was a child, Argin has been something of a thrill seeker. He loves to gamble, and not just with stenis. The bigger the risk, the better the payoff. He thrives on danger, and more or less considers anyone who doesn't a bore.
Argin Elianik lives his life by a simple motto: Pain heals, chicks love scars, and glory lasts forever.
Ranks & Offices
Former Deputy Viceroy
Argin was named Deputy Viceroy of the Republic in 39 A.U., continuing the tradition started by Lord Viceroy Taleo Teranzik of giving each of the Elianik princes a chance to prove their mettle as a leader. He was succeeded by the appointment of Rislan in 41 A.U.. Argin's tenure was credited as one of relative peace.
Commander, Second Division
Argin is the commander of the infantry for the Republic military's Second Division. Under Lord First General Donos, Argin led the infantry to victory in Ellish during the war season of 42 A.U.. Argin is known as being ruthless on the battlefield. He loves war, and he strives to excel at all aspects of it.
Republic Judge
Argin acts as a judge in legal matters within the Republic, particularly in high profile cases which require the attention of the royal family or the Viceroy.
Commander, Chimera Militia
As is the tradition, Argin is also a commander in the Chimera Clan's militia.
Family Life
Grandparents
Elik (the god)
The story goes that Lord Elik took Princess Selene as his wife, and the union resulted in the births of Prince Sadin and Princess Inaya. Argin is able to most directly trace his divine heritage to Elik, but like all of the Elianiks his lineage has many indirect divine origins. Argin does not often speak in public about his grandfather other then to recite his family tree (as any man with an ounce of Gold Dragon blood should be able to do), leaving people to wonder about the extent of his relationship with his grandfather.
Princess Selene Elianik, High Priestess of Elik
Selene Elianik has been called crazy, strange, and quirky, but never incompetent. When she first claimed that she was married to Lord Elik, people thought she might be off her rocker, but over time it has come to be accepted as simple fact. Argin is quite fond of his grandmother, and as a child was often seen in her company. He's older now and spends less time at the Chimera palace, but has not lost any love for his crazy grandma.
Parents
Lady Lucretia IstaNydiam, former Acting Queen
For every scandalous or outrageous thing thing that Prince Argin does, his mother has done something ten times worse. Lady Lucretia is famous for being involved in more scandals then most people can shake a stick at. Argin seems to take after her in that regard. Lady Lucretia is also rather famous for the number of times she's been married. The list includes princes, clan leaders, and royalty from various clans. Her current spouse is none other than Lord Nydiam, former clan leader of the Cockatrice. If nothing else, Argin's mother has made sure that her children are extemely socially connected.
Prince Sadin Elianik, former triumverate leader of the Republic
The man, the myth, the legend. Every rumor you've heard about Sadin Elianik is probably true. Sadin was off causing trouble in some distant land when his younger son was born. Despite the fact that Argin didn't meet his father for the first several years of his life, he seems to take after the man in a number of ways when it comes to drinking and womanizing. Thankfully, it seems as if the son does not emulate the father when it comes to womanizing the noblewomen. Argin also does not seem to share his father's apptitude for pissing off the entire clan council and getting banished every few years, which most people would agree is generally a good thing.
Siblings
Prince Lucas Elianik
Argin and his older brother are currently the two commanders for the Republic military's First Division. In the public eye, the two brothers seem to get along rather well. Argin often takes the public stance of supporting his older brother in most things. It remains to be seen if this support extends to the matter of the Ranivorship.
Lady Tia Firgalik
As children, Argin and his older sister Tia were nearly inseperable. There was even a period of time when a young Argin refused to talk to anyone except his big sister, communicating with everyone else only through her. They've grown up since then. Tia married Clan Leader Ojitar of the Gold Dragons and became a Firgalik. Politics keep Argin and Tia from seeing each other much these days, but they remain close.
Lord Zayus IstaNydiam
The little brother that Argin doesn't really know, Zayus is actually Argin's half brother. He's the product of a union between the Griffon Clan's former clan leader - Lord Judanarius - and Argin's mother. He lives with Lucretia at the IstaNydiam palace. Argin spent a brief period of time living in the Cockatrice palace as a child, but never came to know his half brother as more than an acquaintance.
Lady Cecilia IstaNydiam
Cecilia is the product of the union between Lord Nydiam and Argin's mother, making her Argin's half sister. During the time when Argin lived at the Cockatrice palace, he seemingly delighted in horrifying his only little sister, alternating between whisking her off on wild pirate adventures and shoving her into the pool that then Clan Leader Nydiam kept in his throne room. Argin likes to think that he's helped to mold Cecilia into the young noblewoman she is today, being the awesome role model that he is.
Marriage
Princess Katriana Elianik
Originally a Hydra noblewoman from the N'Gato family, Katriana used a marriage prize from a Spring Festival pentathlon to choose Argin as her husband. When seen in public, Argin and Katriana appear as the epitome of royal marriage. He is the dashing prince and she is the infinitely proper princess. Little is known about their private married life.
Children
Prince Argonus Elianik
Katriana gave birth to Argin's first son on June 29, 41 A.U.. It's no secret that Argin wanted a boy, and Argonus is his pride and joy. Argin seems to take a hardened approach at child rearing, rarely allowing Argonus any toys that would be considered less than manly and often grumbling because his son is constantly giggling happily at everything. This isn't truly surprising, given Argin's own lack of any fatherly upbringing. The prince is often heard commenting on how he can't wait until Argonus is old enough to hold a sword. Luckily, Katriana is there to make sure that the child is adequately pampered when Argin isn't looking.
Accomplishments
Reclaiming Ellish
In 42 A.U., Argin commanded the Republic infantry in their campaign to reclaim Ellish. He served under the now legendary Lord First General Donos Ista Aldrik. It was the finest military campaign in recent memory, and the greatest Firan victory in over 40 years.
Retracing the Heroes' Steps
In 40 A.U., Argin stated his intentions to retrace the steps of the Seven Heroes. The journey has yet to be completed in its entirety, but Argin has undertaken the first portion, leading a party to the Uffian Oracle outside Agadin. He returned to Anarinuell shortly thereafter due to a Republic crisis, but has vowed to complete the remaining portions of the journey.
Forfeiting the Throne
In 39 A.U., Clan Leader Jalil Firgalik stepped down as clan leader of the Gold Dragons and chose to pass the medallion on to his oldest son, Ojitar. Chaos ensued when the Gold Dragon clan nearly erupted into yet another civil war over who should rightly succeed Jalil to the throne. It was said that Ojitar, being half Ticanee, was unworthy compared to other candidates with more Gold Dragon blood. Among those candidates was Argin, who is a direct descendant of Firgalas on both his mother and father's side. In a surprise move, Argin publicly forfeited his claims to the Gold Dragon throne, and instead chose to support Ojitar. Soon after, the Gold Dragons came to accept Ojitar as their new clan leader, thereby avoiding a civil war.

Scandals
Keemsi's Execution
In 41 A.U., Argin sentenced a convicted criminal to death. That in itself is not largely surprising. It was the manner of the sentenced death that caused controversy. The prince ordered Mes Keemsi to be placed in a cage which would then be hung from the marble arch on the temple grounds. She was to remain there until she starved to death. This cruel judgment caused no small amount of outrage, and had many labeling the prince as Argin the Atrocious. The judgment was later reversed by Lord Viceroy Taleo Teranzik before it could be carried out, and Mes Keemsi was sentenced to death by hanging.
