Overview
Personality
Aristedes spent a long time as an only child with a father who was seldom present and a mother who was busy running a clan. As such, he learned to amuse himself and to get attention by amusing others. He is quite an artist, and has drawn little lampoons of people he wishes to mock since he was five. Lately though, he loves to draw maps. Lots and lots of maps. He wants to visit the palace in fact, to see if he can copy the ones the Viceroy has. He has been known to play under tables in the mansion, transforming them into forts and castles, re-enacting or enacting massive battles in his mind with the aid of whatever toys or tools are at hand. This has occasionally meant he's heard things he wasn't intended to, by being out of sight when his mother meets with other clan leaders, or other people in private. Aristedes considers himself very discreet and he understands more than people think he does, which means that it's about time that the Princes called upon him to discuss the war like men. After all, he is convinced he will be clan leader one day and already behaves like it. At a tender age he realized he could start giving commands to servants and underlings and that they actually listened to him. He was a bit of a bully at first, but now he tries to give out his commands more judiciously. Also, he's a natural born teacher, and thinks that everyone would benefit from his instruction. Aristedes is a mama's boy who is starved for affection, though he would never admit either of these things and now refuses to allow his mother to touch him in public. That's for babies, and it's embarrassing. He is a boy eager to be a man and assume the mantle of leadership in his clan, which makes him often a precocious little shit.
Background
The blood of Nala the Great flows through me, and she was the greatest Firan Hero of all time. You know why? Because she saved us all from slavery by giving her own life. Not just any arrow could kill her either. It had to be a special arrow of a god. Firanos had to hurt us to help us, so he killed Nala with his magic arrow, and pretty much if a god thinks that killing you will hurt the entire Firan people, then you must be the best thing ever. You can't argue with Firanos.
I'm the son of Clan Leader Luna Corinala. She is a great Clan Leader. I was eager as a child to jump in to war and go to Ellish. She kept me from that but I realize it was for my own good. I had lessons that I needed to learn and experiences from my elders that needed to be passed to me before I could become an adult. It may have been exciting for me to stand on the walls of Ellish when the Griffon clan took our city back, but it would have put me in unnecessary danger. Of course, now that I've had my ceremony, I get to have all the Ellish that I can handle. These will be my first steps into becoming the great Firan Hero the people have been waiting for. It's not going to come from the son of the butcher's line. The Elianiks have seen to that in fine form. It will be me!
Of course, with Ellish taken my path to becoming a great Griffon Clan and Republic hero will be difficult but not impossible. While taking Ellish would have done wonders for my reputation there is still the job of holding Ellish, repelling Shamibelian invasions and bringing Ellish fully under Griffon clan control. Prince General Argin wasn't able to do it and look at the fuss people paid him. Imagine what they'll say about the man (That man being Aristedes Corinala) that succeeds where Prince Argin had failed so many times. Of course, if I'm not in command when Ellish is finally subdued, there's always Scirlut to take back.
Stepping into manhood I see the Republic crumbling around me. I see the smoke and the fires and the blood caused by the failed line of Elianos. It's up to me to step up and be the hero the Republic needs. The blood of Gods and Heroes flows through my veins and I won't be the one to let the Griffons or the great Firan Republic down.
