Overview
ARMORER
Armorers make greaves, breastplates, helmets and such. Some work on personal commissions, some work for the Republic military or their clan's military. They usually start out at Kamnestra's Smithy down by the Sailor's Nook, and eventually get their own forge in their clan district, or if they are part of the military, use the military forge.
Equipment
The primary equipment of the armorer are leatherworker's tools for leather armor, and Smith's tools and a forge for metal armors.
Supplies that are needed are bronze or iron ingots for metal armors. Leather is a component of several metal pieces as well as leather pieces. Occasionally, armor might have gemstones embedded, particularly if it's more for show than combat.
Attributes and Skills
Armorers are known for their strength reflected in the muscle attribute, as to create metal armor requires hours of hammering the metal into shape and manning the forge bellows. The skill required for all armor pieces is armoring.
Some armorers will acquire the weaponsmithing skill to be able to make weapons such as swords and spears.
Game commands
The 'make' command is the primary command for the creation of all objects, and the armoring skill is required for armor. For making a fire in a forge, the 'help light fire' file details the syntax of the command. The command 'appraise' will tell information such as quality and value and for armor is based off the appraisal/armor skill.
Armor pieces are able to be customized by players. The commands that assist in this are 'name' and 'describe'. Restrictions on customizations are found in 'help customizing.' To put pieces of gemstones on the piece, the 'ornament' command may be used.
Armor will take damage when used in combat, and the 'repair' command can be used on them. However, how well the armorer can repair depends on their level of skill. The higher the skill, the more complete repairs will be.
