Ballista

This is a Firan siege weapon used by those skilled in artillery. Operating like a very large bow, a ballista's bowstring is pulled back using a winch, and it is held in place with a simple trigger mechanism. Firan ballista bolts can be very deadly, traveling at speeds in excess of 115 miles per hour (185 km/h), but they are notoriously inaccurate. At the extreme high end, a 50-pound missle can go as far as 400 yards; at the low end, a 1-pound missile might land 300 yards away. In other words, a ballista cannot fire outside the dspace it's in.
