Overview
LORD BARISTANO MANOSIK
Lord General Baristano Manosik was a man who lived surrounded by an aura of intense emotion. He was consumed by his passions, his overwhelming love for his first wife, Ringora, and the Lady Ninzi, his second wife, as well as his hatred for Garis Istariniad, and his obsessive loyalty to the Republic and his sense of duty. Fierce, he died as he lived: embattled and proud.
Much of his life was consumed by a feud with the Istariniad family. Just as the Griffons and Gold Dragons feuded over Anarinuell itself, the Istariniads and Auriks both laid claim to the same land south of of the city. The issue may have been even more personal than land to Baristano: as a young man he found Garis Istariniad draped around the woman who was to become his wife at a Spring Festival. He wanted to run a blade through Garis, but she stayed his hand for the sake of Festival Peace. The feud grew only worse after the Aurik family returned from Caldera City where they had been assisting the Heroes in building an army to fight the Shamibelians. The Clan Council decided to split the Aurik land in twain, granting half to the Istariniads who had occupied the land during the Great War.
He regretted that decision ever since. Baristano spent the next years of his life waiting for the time he could challenge Garis to a duel, the hatred burning, speaking of it whenever he could and to whomever he could. He cursed the Istariniad name loud and often. Despite this unnatural hatred, he worked hard to build the Aurik name, garnering military fame through his own merits and heroic deeds and eventually becoming a General in the Republic Military through his own strength of mind and of body. He fought in the Great War, obtaining a battle wound that left his leg mangled, leaving him with a permanent limp.
After Ringora's death, he was wed to Ninzi Manosik, and obtained his nobility, becoming the Lord General Baristano Manosik. Unfortunately, Lady Ninzi died giving birth to their only child, Lady Vivacia Manosik. For the honor of the Republic and the glory of Holy Zutiv, to whom Baristano was always loyal and devoted, The Lord General laid down his life to save the life of his child during the war season of 34 A.U. He was survived by his four children, Dania Aurik, Firuell Aurik, Baragar Aurik, and Vivacia Manosik, as well as many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Benesh, who died from ingesting poisoned spinach pies, years before Baristano's passing.
