Background
The Caperbow Family, or at least what is left of it now, was apparently visiting relatives in Sarkaran when the Great War broke out, and Shamibelians began to swarm overhead. They hid in a nobleman's wine cellar, though many of them were killed or taken as slaves to live the rest of their lives in Ellish. Some, it is rumoured, escaped to Caldera City with Firan soldiers, though their current whereabouts are not known.
The rest of the family was kept under slavery within the cities of Sarkaran and Anarinuell, beaten and punished with the worst of tortures, until the Firan forces from the Caldera City finally returned to liberate their brothers, thus beating the invaders back southward.
For a brief period, several of the Caperbows spent time in the Old City before they were able to purchase a better home in the Bear District - now they are firmly middle class, and the family owns its own shop.
