Clan Leaders
From FiranMUX
To learn more about daily life for Firan Clan Leaders, you should read the news online. This information is prone to change with the politics of the game in progress. However, here's a brief overview of the powers that be in the Firan World as of the last edit date for this page.
The Firan Republic
Taleo Teranzik of the Bear Clan is the current Viceroy of the Firan Republic, having served in that position since May of 33 A.U. after succeeding Prince Sadin. At the time, the position of Viceroy was an appointment for one year only; however, the Clan Council was so pleased with Lord Taleo's performance in the role that they extended the position indefinitely, pending the ascension of one of the young princes to the position of Ranivor. Lord Viceroy Taleo has enjoyed considerable success politically as Viceroy, shepherding in a relatively peaceful era after the tumult of Zeysani's War and The Dream.
Previous holders of the position of Viceroy include Prince Sadin Elianik, the son of Elianos' sister Selene; Lord Nydiam, who later went on to become clan leader of the Cockatrice Clan; and Lord Atreides Keniwik, the only neo-noble to take the position.
Chimera Clan
Torianos Elikista became clan leader in the year 39 A.U. after his mother retired in the aftermath of the Antonian Apostasy scandal. Though he was working towards becoming a priest, he was not one at the time of the transition of power, and therefore the Staff of the High Priest/Priestess went to Clan Leader Fidelia of the Bear Clan.
Inaya Elianik has been the Clan Leader of the Chimera Clan since very early in 25 A.U. When Akinita and Sabinus Rissik were judged to be traitors to the Republic and executed, the medallion went to Inaya, who had never really been prepared for leadership in her sheltered life. Inaya also held the the staff of the High Priestess of the Firan Realms. She herself is a Priestess in the Temple of Elik, supposedly her father. She is known for a friendly and sweet nature, maybe a bit too soft for a Clan Leader.
Elianos Firgalik is the founder of the Chimera Clan and the first Ranivor of the United Firan Republic. It was under him that the eight clans decided to unify. He left his throne to his twin sons and grandson when he journeyed to the homeland of the Vrelanders with the other remaining Seven Heroes and has not been heard from since. Though he is no longer Ranivor, he is still widely praised as the greatest Hero in Firan history and one of the greatest leaders ever.
Bear Clan
Fidelia Ista Aldrik is the Bear Clan Leader, having succeeded Clan Leader Sabine after a long term as Lady Proxy in her place.
Sabine is famous for being both the Ranivor's wife and the leader of the Bear Clan. Legends about her include that she led the people out of the Firan Realms and into the caves upon receiving a vision from the Goddess Soli, that she killed the evil Lannos with her poison ring, and that she is a gifted healer. She was also appointed to the honorary position of High Priestess of the Firans which gives her the authority to decide the order of votes in clan council meetings, and which confers upon her the responsibility of giving religious guidance to the people. She and Elianos have three children, Selene and the twin brothers Vahlgellan and Solgarik. A fourth child, Elik, was killed during the rampage of the infamous Beast. Queen Sabine departed with on the Heroes' expedition to Vreland in 20 A.U., leaving Lady Junia Ista Aldrik, Fidelia's elder sister, as ruling proxy.
However, Junia sickened from the Mind Plague, remaining many months in a coma and leaving Fidelia, who was seen at the time as an irresponsible tomboy, in charge. When Fidelia's choices led to the Kemet Massacre of 24 A.U., she resigned her position as proxy to appease the clan, nominating her cousin, Lord Aldrikos Ista Aldrik, to succeed her until her sister regained her health. Although Junia did recover, her reign was shaky, and in the Bear-Gold Dragon War of 24 A.U., she lost the medallion to Lord Taleo Teranzik. When he was first appointed to a term as Viceroy of the Republic, he chose Fidelia as his successor as Proxy of the Bear Clan. Since that time, she has proven many times that she has all the traits of a capable Ista Aldrik, of cold superiority. Aside from her duties as leader, she is currently the High Priestess of the Temple of Unot, where she will see to it that the souls of the deceased join her Lord Unot in the sky. Lady Fidelia was named clan leader in 39 A.U. after many years of serving the Bear Clan as Lady Proxy. In her declaration of leadership, Lady Fidelia stated that if Queen Sabine were ever to return and request her medallion be returned to her, the Bear Clan would gratefully do so. It remains to be seen how this action will play out in Firan politics and society.
Hydra Clan
Amenik Istabelik, eldest son of Clan Leader Belik, is the current Clan Leader of the Hydra Clan. Amenik came to power through a long and difficult Regency, claiming his father's medallion on March 16, 35 A.U. He was married to Lady Gemella Ista Aldrik, daughter of Lord Donos Ista Aldrik. The couple had four children, Lord Adelik Istabelik, Lord Aethyrik Istabelik, Lady Amelia Ista Aldrik, and Lady Ariella Ista Aldrik. According the marriage contract, the daughters of the match belong to the Bear clan and its royal family. Tragically, Lady Gemella died giving birth to her youngest daughter in the year 38 A.U. Clan Leader Amenik is known to be a scholarly and intelligent leader who has brought his struggling clan out of dark years following the series of Regents who ruled it after his father's death. It is said, though, that the Clan Leader's grief for his lost wife has caused him to withdraw from the social scene. Many of the clan's duties are entrusted to his first proxy, Lord Firistan N'Gato.
Eagle Clan
Ania Istaneysani, the Eagle Clan Leader, is the daughter of Clan Leader Zeysani, much-loved leader of the Eagle Clan who was slain by the traitor halfbreed Draugik. Her mother's death in 33 A.U. left Ania as the heir presumptive, but due to Ania's youth she was not formally made Clan Leader until 37 A.U. During the intervening years, Clan Leader Zeysani's husband Lord Donos Ista Aldrik served as regent, followed by Lady Nalia Iberik.
Zeysani was the daughter of Lady Eve, former leader of the Eagle Clan. In her youth and ambition, she attempted to seize the throne for herself by revealing Eve's illicit affair and resulting pregnancy by Lord Judanarius of the Griffon Clan, forcing Eve to step down in the ensuing scandal. The vengeful Eve had the last laugh by naming Zeysani's twin brother Lord Nydiam as heir to the throne. After his coronation, he eventually married Lady Ibania, daughter of Clan Leader Bannos. However, upon Ibania giving birth to twins and Nydiam's public announcement of it, the clan rioted and fell into civil war. To bring the fighting to an end, Zeysani took the throne.
Cockatrice Clan
The Cockatrice Clan's history is a bloody and tangled one, as evidenced by the heritage of the current clan leader, Diamia Istanydiam. Daughter of Lady Ibania Istabannos and Lord Nydiam (originally of the Eagle Clan), Lady Diamia is the product of a marriage specifically designed to unite two bloodlines with a claim to the Cockatrice medallion -- the descendents of the hero Bannos and the descendents of the ancient royal Cockatrice line represented by Lady Eve. She inherited the medallion from her father, Clan Leader Nydiam, when he chose to retire to a mystical advanced age. Clan Leader Diamia is married to Lord Rikon Istabannos, son of Lady Bashona Istabannos and Lord Aldrikos Ista Aldrik, thus further uniting the divergent lines of inheritance.
Nydiam ascended to the throne of the Cockatrice Clan in 26 A.U. after a bloody civil war that saw the clan lose a share of its territories to the Gold Dragon Clan and Bear Clans clans known as Ibania's Test. Nydiam's wife Ibania, daughter of Clan Leader Bannos, who had served as Proxy, named herself Clan Leader, declaring her father dead. Due to his blood as descendant of Eve, Nydiam used the opportunity to seize the throne for himself. First as Proxy, later, when the supposed son of Kenirikas tried to wrestle control away from him, Nydiam named himself Clan Leader.
Griffon Clan
The Clan Leader of the Griffon Clan, Luna Corinala, is the daughter of Lady Eve and Lord Judanarius of the Griffon clan. She became clan leader in March of 38 A.U. after a series of Regents held the medallion following her father's deposal as clan leader. She is married to Lord Judanus Firgalik, the son of Clan Leader Jalil of the Gold Dragon Clan and Clan Leader Taria Oshta of the Ticanee clan. They have one son, Lord Aristedes.
After the murder of Clan Leader Judanarius' wife Eve in 21 A.U., the Griffon Clan Leader lost control of the clan. He received a second chance, but had to serve as Regent, not Clan Leader, until his heirs Luna and Juneva were of age. He chose to marry Lady Lucretia Firgalik, who was his ultimate downfall. When Lucretia bore him a child, the Griffon Clan rioted, for they would not settle for a Firgalik in their Royal family, not as heir to the throne. It was then that the Clan Council appointed Lady Nalia Iberik as Regent. Lady Nalia is the High Priestess of Unot and originally an Eagle. She served as Regent from 27 A.U. to 35 A.U., when Lady Pia of the Bear clan took up the role of Regent, serving until Lady Luna was chosen as clan leader.
Gold Dragon Clan
When Judano, clan leader of the Gold Dragons, was killed by Shamibelians, he left behind no will and no heirs, or so it was thought until it was revealed that he had fathered a son by Lady Tazi of the Griffon Clan: Lord Jalil. Jalil claimed the family name of Firgalik and the Clan Council granted his claim to the Gold Dragon throne as well, a move which did not sit well with many and which lead to a brief but bloody civil war which Jalil skillfully quashed. Before taking the throne, Jalil was married briefly to Taria Oshta and has two sons by her, Ojitar and Judanus. Many Gold Dragons say that Jalil could have seized control of all the clans and could have been Emperor Jalil, if only he had wanted to. In September of 39 AU, Jalil passed control of the Gold Dragon clan on to his eldest son, Ojitar Firgalik, in a move that surprised many.
Ticanee Clan
Taria Oshta is the daughter of Velani the Oracle and Torvahl, the previous Clan Leader of the Ticanee Clan. When he announced that he intended to adopt a man named Coran Emista — a known troublemaker and alleged crackpot — as a possible heir, Taria became alarmed and declared her father to be mentally ill from the water sickness. Backed by many of her supporters, she challenged him to a duel of spears for the clan medallion, and won. She was married briefly to Lord Jalil and together they produced two sons, Ojitar and Judanus. She is currently married to Lord Taleo Teranzik.
