Overview

CLOTHIER

If you're a clothier, you're in high demand! You will be making clothes for all classes of people, though you will get more money, of course, from nobles. If you don't have a shop of your own you can seek to get hired by a clothier that does own a shop.

Equipment

The tools for this trade are the "tailor's tools," which consist of cutting shears, measuring ruler, needles, pins, thread, and chalk. Clothiers also require a supply of materials to turn into clothing: silk, linen, wool, cotton, leather and fur.

Attributes and Skills

The skill required for clothiers is the tailoring skill. Tailoring requires a good deal of coordination on the part of the tailor to be an expert as well.

Game commands

@products

The first command required is @products. @products silk stola will give a list of ingredients required in the room to 'make' a silk stola. @products/tailoring will give you a list of all the various things you can craft as a clothier on Firan. @products/search silk cloth will tell you all things that can be made with silk cloth, if that's something you have on hand and you're looking to use.

make

The second command required is 'make'. Once you have assembled all necessary items and you have your tailor's tools in the room, you may 'make <item>' to craft your item. This costs energy and uses coordination plus your tailoring skill to determine your success.

name

Clothing can be named and described using ascii art and ansi codes. (Help ansi codes for information on color substitutions) You can name your unfinished chest using 'name unfinished silk stola=beautiful silk stola' with any colors you wish, so long as the words 'silk stola' remain all one color. You can only name unfinished items, and you can only name items that you created.

describe

Describing your item requires using the describe command. 'describe beautiful silk stola' You can only describe unfinished items, and you can only describe items that you created. Describe item will give you a prompt where you may type your description or input a description you came up with in another program made to generate ascii art code.

finish

Once your product is named and described, you can inspect it for errors and finish it using the finish command. 'finish beautiful silk stola' would finish the item, making it ready for use or sale!
