Cockatrice Newsletter 2 - Unknown date
From FiranMUX
Howdy Cockatrices! Welcome to the first real newsletter, my apologies for skipping last week's. Anyway, welcoming to the ranks this week.. We've got, well, a welcome back from a life as a statue to Banik, a hello to returning Junot and Melli, both having played these characters before! If I missed you, slap an @mail my way and I'll be sure to correct that soon or in the next newsletter.
IC Rumors and News!
Boy, that Teraloka farm sure has been busy lately. Seems Mes Immajeeni can't keep the suitors away from her. Where has her father been through all this? Or her mother? Aren't they supposed to be setting up a marriage for this girl, and why haven't they yet? Seems she's quite popular, its not like they'd have trouble.
We all heard about that ship coming into port bearing Ista Aldrik colors, some thought it to be Queen Sabine returning early from their voyage. Much to everyone's surprise, when the boat landed off came Lord Aldrikos, husband to our own Princess Proxy Bashona! Most everyone thought he was dead, shows how wrong we were. The upset over Princess Bashona being married to two men was finally calmed as priests from the temples conferred, their decision; she is still married to Lord Aldrikos. What do you have to say about that?
The plague! The Plague! When will it ever end? And what was the cause of this horrible thing? It recently claimed the life of the elder Lord Wirk Ista Barun, much to the despair of many. Warden Thallo has put out pleas for help in finding plants to make mint tea and feverfew powder with, to help calm those still recovering.
The Aerogatik insulae caught ablaze, leaving the poor family
with a crispy home. What a shame.
OOC news!
Seems the wizzen are being plagued by their own plague! Bad Kharma I tell you, Bad kharma. Anyway, we wish our unhealthy wiz-like people a speedy recovery!
Throgana is still looking for a husband. Any of you cockatrice men single and thinkin' you could handle her? She'd be greatful! :P
I think that's all for OOC news.
Quickie Tips!
Just a few things that caught my eye.
1) When you're sending @mails, making @bb/posts and even @requests, you can use wonderful substitutions to make them a bit easier to read. Check out 'help Substitutions' for more on that.
2) Fly-by speed walking and super-bathers. We all have the tendency to run around the grid. Literally. You type where you want to go 3 rooms before you get there, and then you miss people who are waiting around the grid for RP. Take some time, slow down. Go one room at a time, pose walking through the room if someone is in it.. maybe see if they're up for some RP. It's a -great- way to make new friends. And, if you do happen to breeze by someone.. a quick little page, 'Hey, Sorry I ran by right then.' To them with maybe a, 'I've gotta run soon' or 'Did you want to RP? I can come back.' To let them know you didn't just over-look them is nice. And also, speed-bathers! Wow-o-wow! We're all guilty of doing it, come to the forum, type bh, wm, drop baby, get baby, o and you're on your way (Okay, some of you don't get the baby and stuff.) in a mater of seconds. Even with the game time being 2:1 ratio, you're taking a 30 second bath, dears. I wanna see you undress in that amount of time. :P Sometimes there will be other people in the bath house, pause and RP with them. Even if its only 3 or 4 poses altogether, you could make a new friend and you've also made your bathing time more realistic.
3) Send your fachead things for newsletters!! Really, its fun to do! Promise! Ask Immajeeni! She's done it twice! (3 times if you count the @mail server wiped one) </shameless plug>
Closing Thoughts
Well, s'all for the cockatrice times this week. I'm going to be gone again (help! Family!) not this next week, but the week after that, so you may not be getting a newsletter then either. Hopefully I'll get my act together, or can con someone else into doing one.. (Ooo... Porfiiiiirio! You owe me! :P) Anyway, Thankies for being a wonderful group! *sah-mooches you all*
Your.. Normally happy, sometimes slap-happy, good at long signing off phrases, temporarily crippled, always friendly, typically crazy and especially your !fake fachead, Azara
