The Corinala Family -- led by Luna (Royal House: Griffon) Colors: red/white
After the great war, the Royal House of the Griffon almost died out, consisting of only Clan Leader Tazi(d) and her two sons, Lord Jalil and Lord Judanarius. An old and distinguished line, the people are eager for it to continue and the two sons have been seen as the last hope to recapture the greatness of the nearly-extinct Griffon Clan.
However, much has changed in recent times. Lord Judanarius married Clan Leader Eve(d) of the Eagle Clan, throwing the Griffon Clan into turmoil as Lord Jalil was already married to Clan Leader Taria of the Ticanee, daughter of the exiled Clan Leader Torvahl. When Clan Leader Judano of the Gold Dragon Clan was killed by the Shamibelians without leaving a will, it was revealed that Jalil, long thought to be the son of Lanester, was actually Judano's only blood heir, born of a liasion between him and Tazi, who died of grief soon after he did. The Clan Council selected Jalil to lead the Gold Dragon Clan, and he divorced Clan Leader Taria to take the position, granting her custody of their then only child, Ojitar, and the baby, Judanus, she carried who was born after the divorce. Judanarius, meanwhile, took up the Griffon clan leadership after Eve stepped aside in favor of her son Nydiam. They have a pair of daughters, Luna and Juneva, to serve to continue the Griffon Royal Line. Eve, however, died from poison in September of 21 A.U.
Clan Leader Judanarius remarried in early 24 A.U., to Lady Petrina Ista Aldrik, a marriage that pleased many. Soon afterwards, he took ill and Lady Petrina served as his Proxy while he was incapable. It was under her leadership that the Griffons joined the Bears in the political turmoil of late 24 A.U., to stand against the Alliance of Gold Dragon, Cockatrice, Eagle and Ticanee Clans, and they failed. Lady Petrina had to hand her husband's clan medallion to Clan Leader Jalil of the Gold Dragons. Judanarius' brother ruled both clans, until Judanarius was healthy again and the medallion was turned back to him, with the caveat that he serve as Regent to his daughter Luna. Whether this was constitutionally viable is still debated.
In January of 26 A.U., Judanarius declared himself to be a Corinala, as well as his daughters Luna and Juneva, establishing a family name for a Royal House that had gone without a last name before. The name is derived from the previous Clan Leaders Corista and Nala, Judanarius' uncle and cousin respectively. In 32 A.U., Lady Luna came into her role as the Head of the Royal House after her Ceremony of Souls and a judgment by Lady Regent Nalia Iberik. She later married Judanus Firgalik and he became a member of the Corinala house. Their wedding gift of the city of Scirlut launched a bloody civil war between Griffons and Gold Dragon citizens who refused to leave the city. In 38 A.U, after the agreement of the Clan Council and an open vote, Luna Corinala was named Clan Leader of the Griffons. Juneva unfortunatly contracted a dangerous mind-sickness and was sent away to recover her health and well-being.
