Position and Requirements
The official cupbearer shall be present for all meetings and therefore, must take an oath to keep the proceedings secret. Therefore, someone who is circumspect is a must. Preference shall go to young nobles between the ages of 11 and 15 of either gender.
Lest you think such a position is frivolous, consider that you must hold a high degree of trust not to say, poison all your leaders and throw the Republic into chaos and bring about ruination and damnation to your people. Thus, anyone entrusted into this position will carry with them the prestige and honor of it, and shall be considered a more likely candidate for higher office.
Responsibilities include bringing beverages to each Clan Council meeting, testing each beverage for poison, and seeing to it that the Clan Council is adequately served.
Pay will be commensurate with skill, but will certainly be generous.
