The Didoron Family -- Led by Razesh Didoron, (noble Cockatrice family) Colors: white/blue
This old noble family generally does its best to keep its head down and the rumors quiet since they do not wish to continue to be associated with societal fears about the Regime. They believe that the Cockatrice Clan has gotten a bad reputations with the other Firans and they simply seek to remedy that by being as respectable and loyal to the Republic as possible. Lord Ojax Didoron was a loyal soldier in Elianos' army during the Great War and he encouraged military service by all members of his family - something all members continue to do to the present day. Family members of the early Didoron generation included Ojax), his wife Resaria and their son Izzen. Izzen was married briefly to Lady Yolette and they had one son, Razesh. Also part of the family during those early days were Ojax's nieces Willona, Pia, Inessa and his nephews Simon and Pertinax. Unfortunately, and despite trying to keep a low profile, the family had been plagued with many untimely deaths and scandals. Lord Izzen was killed in the war season of 18 A.U. Only a few months later, his mother Lady Resaria was exiled for treason. Shortly thereafter, Lord Ojax was also killed during war season, this in 19 A.U. after being captured by the Shamibelians. Lord Orikos, Lord Ojax's brother, came to Anarinuell from Unotran and took control of the family shortly after, along with his wife Lady Baphyra Didoron. Lady Yolette left the family upon her marriage to Lord Rodellos N'Gato, taking her son Razesh with her to the Hydra Clan. Lady Pia also left upon her marriage to Lord Leonus Teranzik of the Bear Clan.
Scandal would continue to plague the Didorons despite their efforts. They
seemed their own worst enemy. Lord Simon was banished from the Cockatrice Clan only to perform other crimes against the Ticanee, leading to his
execution. Many years later, in 34 A.U., Lord Razesh removed
Simon completely from the Didoron family. Orikos' daughter Lady Inessa was
poisoned and died, shortly after her wedding to Lord Lutrios N'Gadanik in 22 A.U. In 23 A.U., Gustan, the twin brother of Lord
Izzen, and his wife Zakaria were accepted into the Didoron Family
along with their children, now Lord Nessik and Lady Tanaina.
This ennoblement of a twin caused yet more scandal for the seemingly
cursed noble family. Within a few months of this, Lord Orikos met his own
death at the hands of his son, Lord Pertinax. The death was ruled an
accident and not murder, though Pertinax was punished for his recklessness.
Despite that, he was named as Head of House. Shortly after, Lady Baphyra,
Orikos' widow, was stripped of title and name. She died in the great floods
of 37 A.U In January of 24 A.U., Lord Gustan tried to assist when the Bear Clan rioted
over the fate of Lord Kemet Manosik. In what is commonly referred to as The Kemet Massacre, Lord Gustan lost his life, torn apart by the mob.
During that summer, Lord Pertinax managed to acquire a spring festival marriage
prize and claimed the hand of Lady Junia Ista Aldrik. He left the Cockatrice Clan and Didoron family to join the Bear Clan and his new wife's family. Scant
months later, near the end of 24 A.U., both Pertinax and Junia joined the
Didoron family and Cockatrice Clan after Lady Junia had to give up the Bear
Clan Medallion in favor of Lord Taleo Teranzik. Within two years, they had a
daughter who they named Laurelia.
In 30 A.U., Lady Junia proclaimed herself Clan Proxy for the Cockatrice Clan
when Clan Leader Nydiam was away from Anarinuell for awhile. It was during
this time that her husband, Lord Pertinax, was found in a coma, some
suspecting that she had poisoned him in a grab for power. Both would perish.
Lady Junia was sentenced to death through self-induced poison
for her treason against the Cockatrice Clan, Bear Clan and the Republic.
Upon her death, documents from Nelanos written in 22 A.U. declared that a
child born to Lord Pertinax and Lady Aldrissa was to be adopted with full
inheritance rights by herself and her husband upon the child's Ceremony of
Souls or her death, whichever came first. Thus Lady Yvette joined
the family and Cockatrice Clan. Lord Pertinax never awoke from his coma,
dying in the Temple of Unot in early 31 A.U Upon the death of Pertinax, Clan Leader Nydiam named Razesh the Didoron Head of House. Diplomatic discussions between the Bear Clan and Cockatrice Clan
lead to a judgment by Lady Lucretia IstaNydiam which sent Lady Laurelia
Didoron back to her Ista Aldrik family and Bear Clan. In return, Lady Yvette
Didoron would remain both Didoron and Cockatrice. The then-young nobleman
Razesh seemed on a quest to repair the damages of the past, publicly noting
in a speech:
"The Didoron Family as of late has been struggling hard to do it's best to rebuild itself from the ashes of those who have come before us. New blood, new faces, and new titles all have been granted to my family and we accept them with humility and with honor. But, these do not wipe clean the past. While I wish I could simply pretend the actions of those who came before me did not happen, it is not only impossible, it is unwise."
Lady Daphni's grandchildren and great grandchildren came to Anarinuell from
Unotran around this time as well. Lord Pyrrus, his wife Lady Riette and their children, Lord Rusul, Lady Kenilla and Lord Daphrus along with Lord Pyrrus' siblings, Lady Giana, Lady Ildria, Lord
Zerasmus and Lady Ketria. The family would seem to crawl out of the
shadows for a few years before troubles would again surface. Lord Razesh and Lady Yvette married in 34 A.U. and have two children, Lord
Jaxon and Lady Aldrette. Lord Pyrrus and Lady Riette also had
two more children, Lord Lindin and Lord Lycantus. Lord Razesh
was named a Proxy for the Cockatrice Clan and served as the Republic's
first Deputy Viceroy. Both he and Lord Zerasmus would make names for themselves, both as rowdy noblemen as well as for their esteemed services in
the military. Along with Lady Willona and several others, the nobleman were
part of the Mission to Shamibel that was executed during the war season of
34 A.U. Lady Riette and Lord Pyrrus made important strides in Firan society,
serving as ministers for the Cockatrice Clan and Lady Riette's appointment
as Elianik matchmaker. Lady Yvette served as her assistant as well as
matchmaker during Riette's return visits to Unotran. Lady Yvette also
served in Republic ministries to aide the Didoron name. The Didoron curse,
as it always seems to, knocked upon their door soon enough, it seemed.
In 35 A.U., Lady Willona would commit treason against the Ticanee, her
drunken behavior finally bringing about her undoing. Having attacked The Oshta
at a dinner held in the Ticanee estate, she was sentenced to death. Willona was stripped of both title and the Didoron name as the family
wished to divorce themselves from anyone would continue to bring scandal
upon their house. The years of 36 and 37 A.U. would continue to bring spotlights onto the
family. Lord Razesh was sent to broker peace during the Scirlut Skirmish,
his political and military prowess well known in the Republic by now. In March
of 37 A.U., Lady Rianna Teranzik would claim Lord Zerasmus with a marriage
prize. This was quite a to-do for several reasons. One would be that a match
between Zerasmus and Lady Lilana Shadina, the adopted daughter of Her Honor
Taria and His Honor Jalil, had been in the works for months. The other would
be the tensions that had been quietly brewing between the Cockatrice and Bear Clans. Shortly after the announcement, Her Honor Taria implored that no
marriage between Zerasmus and Rianna happen, as it seemed he and Lady Lilana
had married already in secret. Rumors that this was untrue were quietly
murmured, but Lady Rianna and Lord Zerasmus were not to be. Finally together, Lord Zerasmus and
Lady Lilana brought their first child, Lord Tarik, into the world in
March of 38 A.U. He would be their only, as Lady Lilana died shortly after
giving birth. The Republic grieved the death of the quiet and
lovely young noblewoman who had finally managed to find happiness.
Several of the Didorons would be arranged in what would prove good noble and
political matches: Lady Ketria to Lord Rodiste N'Gato, she to join the
Hydra Clan. Lord Gadrus N'Gato to Lady Kenilla Didoron, he to join the
Cockatrice. Lady Ildria to Lord Marsalos Iberik, she to join the Iberik
family and Lady Giana to Lord Galanthis Sennet, she to join that
family as well as the Griffon Clan. Amidst these notable arrangements, a
scandal of the worst sort would clutch at the throat of the family yet again. During the summer of 38 A.U. a man named Witan - later proven to be an
imposter - claimed to be one Lord Witan Didoron, the result of an affair between
Lord Pertinax and Willona. The announcement threw both the Didoron family and
the Cockatrice Clan into turmoil. Rioters gathered outside of the Didoron estate
with the intention of murdering the entire family, the accusations of the Regime
rearing its head against the family yet again. "Witan the Pretender" and his two
accomplices were judged guilty of treason and sentenced to death.
The family could be considered one of the most resilient in the Republic, their lives seeming never to have dull moments for long.
