Overview
Dodon Istariniad, a child of the esteemed middle class Istariniad family of the Griffon Clan. Captured in 34 A.U. during one of the war campaigns in Ellish, he currently remains a slave to the Shamibelians.
Early History
Dodon Istariniad was born on April 23rd in the year 21 A.U., the youngest son of Anala Istariniad and the late Garis Istariniad; a bit of a momma's boy, Dodon was always fiercely protective of Anala. He always had a sweet disposition toward his friends and family -- a reason for which some people took to calling him a floof throughout his childhood.
Recent History
Having completed his Ceremony of Souls at only age 12 in order to more quickly join and support the Istariniad family at a time of tight finances, Dodon did not let his young age get in the way of work. A weapon smith of reasonable skill and a soldier to both Clan and Republic, Dodon joined the Republic Navy very shortly after his ceremony, pursuing his dream of becoming an Admiral. Sadly, during a cutback of personnel in the Republic Navy, Dodon was reassigned; at least given a choice on where he would like to go, he chose to join the First. However, his service with the First would not last long, as -- with many others from the First -- he was sent to the war campaign in Ellish in 34 A.U. as reserves, where he was captured by the Shamibelians during a large rescue operation.
Family
Parents
Garis(d) was Dodon's father, whom he had a respectful attitude toward. He was killed in a riot in Scirlut in 35 A.U.
Anala is Dodon's mother, whom he cherishes above all else -- if anything could arouse his temper, it was anyone insulting or threatening Anala.
Siblings
Zurano is Dodon's significantly older half-brother.
Vinik is another one of Dodon's half-brothers -- though considerably older, they get along well enough, occasionally going fishing together.
Norius is yet another half-brother for Dodon; also significantly older, Dodon has mixed feelings about Norius over his marriage to Dania, a member of the Aurik family -- infamous enemies of the Istariniad family.
Galumnik(d) is another half-brother, who died in 16 A.U., before Dodon was born.
Elikos(d) is the oldest of Dodon's full brothers, who died in 23 A.U., when Dodon was only two years old. Elikos has always intrigued Dodon's curiousity, because the family considered him blessed by the god Elik.
Tuelli(d) was Dodon's sister -- and a twin. Nevertheless, Dodon loved her. Sadly, she was killed in 35 A.U. during a whipping punishment; Dodon doesn't know she's dead, as he was captured the previous year.
Tuellin(d) was Dodon's brother -- and Tuelli's twin. He was killed shortly after his birth in 23 A.U., by a mob.
Judala is Dodon's youngest sister, and he adores her unconditionally.
Galumnae(d) is Dodon's sister -- they had a love/hate sibling relationship, with Galumnae often calling him a floof, much to his chagrin. Sadly, she was murdered in 38 A.U. and her killer was never found; as Dodon was captured years before, he does not know she is dead.
Allies
Anaxotran(d) was Dodon's sponsor and friend, who stood in for his parents at his Ceremony of Souls when they were unavailable. They shared many happy memories together, but sadly Anaxotran was killed in 36 A.U., butchered horrifying by rebels. Dodon does not know of his sponsor's death, and would no doubt be heartbroken not only by his death -- but in the cruel and unusual way he was killed.
Rikiniru(d) was Dodon's mentor and friend, who taught him much of what he knew about fighting, and even social customs. Unfortunately, he was confined to his house in 33 AU under suspicions of insanity, and later killed in 34 A.U. under mysterious circumstances.
