Emagalish Family

The Emagalish family is a faithful Gold Dragon family of farmers. Their patriarch, old Emagalish himself, was said to be as old as Belik, and nearly as cranky. He had only three daughters, each of whom were encouraged to marry strong men who could provide strong backs for the family farming. Two of those son in laws died during the Great War, fighting the shamibelians, along with two of Emagalish's daughters. As a result, after the war, the Emagalish's moved onto the Firgalik property as overseers, gathering all branches of the family together so that Emagalish might raise his orphaned grandchildren.
Emagalish not only remembered the Gold Dragon-Griffon wars, but he was old enough to have participated in them. He remembered when the Griffon army was mighty, and when the Gold Dragon and Griffon clans were worthy adversaries, both fighting over the city of Anarinuell. For several years, they agreed to share the city, but then the Griffons used trickery and seduction to win the city for themselves. The Gold Dragons made war, and that war was bloody and crushed the Griffons into the shadow of the former clan that they were. Thus, the Emagalish family is prone to think of the Griffons as the enemy, still, and that their sneakiness is an affront to Zutiv. As far as the Emagalish family is concerned, the only good Griffon is a dead Griffon.
This belief has put them in an awkward position. They have always served the Firgalik family as overseers and farmers of the property, and so when Judano died and his throne was left to [Jalil]], his only son, but half-Griffon, the Emagalish family was forced to choose sides. The old patriarch of the family felt that Judano was a weak traitor to the clan, and seemed to harbor the same opinion of Judano's bastard son.
While Emagalish was the patriarch, the real head of the family at the time of Jalil's claiming of the Gold Dragon Clan Medallion was his son-in-law, Ivar. Ivar decided that the family would be best saying very little, and not backing any side at all. During the first Gold Dragon Civil War between Jalil and Solgarik, the entire family went on a pilgrimage to Caldera City until the war was over. It's not clear whether Jalil ever forgave them for their conveniently timed trip, but during the second Gold Dragon civil war, the family firmly backed Clan Leader Jalil, and were welcomed back as overseers for the Firgalik estates.
A long-standing concern regarding the Emagalish family is that they seem to have always had bad luck in reproducing. First, old man Emagalish had nothing but girls. Then, it seems that his grandchildren were incapable of having more than one child each. The family is plagued by miscarriages and infant mortality, and they don't really consider adoption to be a solution.
In Shamibelian raids, Elvetes lost his life trying to save Lady Throgana Keniwik. While she was banished from the clan for actions taken during the last Gold Dragon Civil War, Elvetes is remembered as a hero and is survived by a son, Elvetus. Things did not go as well for his son Rumafo, who was cast out of the family for actions taken involving a Hydran girl. His wife Starlette has married out of the Emagalish family, though her son Elvetes still carries the name; having been adopted by his cousin Nortia when he was quite young.
Finally, in recent events, Bukatio has married a Gold Dragon woman, Omri. The pair seemed to have laid to rest any speculation of a family curse; over the years having produced eight children, five boys and three girls. They continue the role of overseers for Jalil's properties and have thriving businesses as well; Bukatio as a skilled armorsmith and Omri as the city's highly regarded premiere bowyer.
