EMRAN: New City

Emran is best described as a pioneer settlement. The Clan of the Chimera is a newly formed clan that carved its lands out of the great unknown wilderness. The city serves as a capital for the clan, and was founded by Elianos. He is a larger than life figure who first took his band of soldiers into the new territory to conquer it. Emran started out as a sort of wilderness outpost with a strong leaning towards defense concerns. Consequently, the city is walled.

After the city was made habitable, and Elianos had firmly entrenched his military leadership, new settlers from the Mighty Clan of the Gold Dragon were welcomed to come to these new rich lands. Hardy pioneers settled in Emran, and the people of the city still retain those characteristics. They are tough, they are self-starters, and they are somewhat unsophisticated.

Many Emranians left the Clan of the Gold Dragon for religious reasons, as they were not monotheistic worshippers of Zutiv but worshipped the pantheon instead. Furthermore, when Elianos settled Emran, he also welcomed settlers from Garusani who were still worshippers of the old totem system. As a result, there is a respectable divergence of religious views in Emran.

Emran is not very crowded, and has areas devoted to trade and to worship. There is a large compound in Emran, however, that seems to be devoted to military training. There are many farmers in Emran, and a good many of them live outside the city walls.
