Events

The staff and players schedule a number of regular and recurring events, as well as other planned one-time events. On the game, there's a @calendar command that will tell you what events are coming up in the coming month. We'll also try to mention some of the larger events here.

In-character (IC) time runs three times as fast as real life (RL) time. Any event that occurs once a year on the game will occur three times a year in real life. Times are noted as IC or RL.

FiranCon	RL: Memorial Day Weekend	3 days	FiranCon has continued to be a success as an annual event. Everyone meets at a hotel or hall in Baltimore, Maryland. Expect partying, costumes, "Firan" food, and games, and who knows what else. All Firan players are welcome to attend.
Spring Festival	IC: Spring RL: last week of April	2-3 RL Weeks	Every Spring, the Firans rejoice in the thawing of the lands and the green lushness of the earth. They meet in Sarkaran to renew old friendships and start new romances. Eesha, the goddess of love, is said to watch over this festival. The event is a time of celebration and play, with games and a Pentathlon.
War Season	IC: July-August RL: last week of July	2 weeks RL	Every Summer, the Firans march off to the south to meet the evil and twisted Shamibelians in battle.
Fall Festival	IC: Fall RL: first week of November	2-3 RL weeks	Every Fall, the Firans bring in the harvest and celebrate its bounty with a festival at Sarkaran. This is a chance for people of all clans to mingle and meet, and there are competitions of many kinds, including a Pentathlon.
Olympic Games	IC: May-June, odd years RL: last week of January	2-3 RL weeks	Every other year, there is an Olympic Competition. All the clans send their best to compete against the rest of the Republic. The competition spans more than a dozen events. Win the gold for your clan!
