Festival Wedding Prize
From FiranMUX
One of the prizes available for pentathlon winners to choose during the Spring Festival is the marriage prize, a prize where the holder gets to choose any eligible bachelor or bachelorette in the land to marry. Those who are still bound are ineligible to be chosen as a prize. The Spring Festival is a celebration of Eesha, and it is considered an affront to the gods for the chosen one to refuse the honor of being married by the festival prize.
It is tradition that the marriage take place at the closing ceremonies, and the couple be marched from the Festival Pavilion to the temple for their nuptials. If this cannot happen because one of the participants is not available, the marriage should take place as soon as possible after the close of festival. To forbid the marriage or to require approval for it is against the sacredness of the Festival. However, a clan leader or the Ranivor/Viceroy can impose a six month period of chastity upon the pair, in lieu of the traditional courtship period.
Like all Festival prizes, the festival prize is transferable, but should not be bought or sold, as that is an affront to the sacredness of the prize.
Recently the marriage prize was expanded to be available to Fall Festival pentathalon winners as well, replacing the former Nobility Prize.
