Fiasco Playset

This is a playset for the tabletop RPG Fiasco, by my friend Jason Morningstar. Fiasco is a game about ordinary people with huge ambitions and poor impulse control. I thought it would be perfect for Firan role-play.

This playset assumes you have some basic Firan knowledge, so I don't recommend playing it with a bunch of non-Firan types. That said, I tested it with Lilah's and Lirinaya's players plus my brother (who has only passing Firan knowledge), and my brother didn't have trouble understanding what was going on, even when we dragged in stuff like the Hydra Warrior Code and Amenik. Still, if you're playing with non-Firans, I recommend using one of the Fiasco rulebook's built-in playsets, which are focused on more modern settings that everyone "gets."

Jon's Redesign

At FiranCon 2011, I ran this playset about 4 times and saw some places where it could be improved. I'm taking a shot at writing a new playset based on Adam's, above, but potentially with a tighter feel. This is currently a work-in-progress, as evidenced by the fact that it is not yet a complete playset.

It is X AU (Year TBD). The city of Anarinuell hosts the most important people to the Firan People (as well as the least desirable), all still fighting to permanently establish the peace and freedom that has been denied them by the Shamibelians since the beginning of the Great War. And even if you survive battle on the front lines, there is no guarantee that there isn't a dagger or poisoned cake waiting for you on your return. Not to mention the whispers of a conspiracy of Drikkists, the Lanesh, and the Old City…
