Market Massacre

In early 34 A.U., a mob formed in the Forum that threatened to riot. Sir Commander Anikos Aurik of the Air Force arrived on the scene and called in soldiers to keep the peace on the ground, and sent Centurion Petulos to gather pilots, ordering him to bring as many griffons as he could find to circle the Market.

The air troops arrived, and circled in a show of strength. Suddenly, Anikos gave an order to swoop down and "buzz" the rioters back.

Unfortunately, the griffons were trained to understand that diving on a crowd meant that they were to attack. Petulos and the pilots under his command were unable to pull back in time, and the griffons began to gorge themselves on citizens of Anarinuell, including several people who had come in to attempt rescues.

By the time the dust cleared, many people had been killed, including Sir Anikos himself. The griffons were destroyed, as they had tasted Firan blood and could no longer be considered to be safe.
