The situation within the Eagle Clan seems to have calmed down, settling into a wary truce, although it seems as if the people are still cautious. However, as Clan Leader Zeysani has rescinded her brother's decrees, it seems that the people are happy, as that us all they wanted, anyway.
But conflicts and tempers continue to flare. Lady Bashona and her newly rearrived husband, Lord Aldrikos, announced that they were getting a divorce with almost undue haste, and this was taken as an insult to the Bear Clan. Lady Fidelia, in her position as proxy, declared that all Bear-Cockatrice marriages were null and void, and that Bear citizens were to refrain from any contact with Cockatrice, demanding an apology. Lady Bashona refused, and asserted that the marriages were not negated. Tensions between the citizens were high and hostile for a while, but as the festival drew to a close, the two proxies apologized to one another, and announced the betrothal of Lord Leonus to Lady Pia.
Speaking of the Festival, it was a great success! Well attended and packed with activities and events, most agree that it was a very good time. The pentathalons also caused excitement as the newly-ennobled Lord Lippio won not one, but two pentathalons. He chose land for his first prize, but when he won the second, he was not allowed to keep the prize, and thus had to give it away. He chose Mes Vana Parnassis, who took the traditional marriage prize -- choosing Lord Lippio. One can only wonder what her father, a reputed crime lord in the Old City, as well as the other Old City denizens, will think. But the winner of the final pentathalo, Lord Pavan, chose the marriage prize as well, picking as his bride Mes Lasanna Mondarik. Again, people can only wonder: a Hydra and an Eagle? However can that pairing ever work out happily?
More worrisome, and as yet unexplained, was the mysterious ailment that struck the whole city days before the festival began, and continues into its first few days. The whole city found itself unable to sleep for five days straight. Tempers were high, indeed, and no one could understand why they just couldn't rest. But then, as quickly as it arrived, it all went away again. Was it just some strange quirk? Or was Uf mad, as some believers say?
Life continues though, in post-festival business, with the preparation for the biannual Olympics, thr plans of the Ticanee and Griffons to go found their new cities, and the coming war season. Some clans have already gotten their try-outs underway, and it's said that many are down scoping out the potential competition for better judgement calls on their part. With the Olympics looming, excitement begins to run high. So, too, with Clan Leader Judanarius organizing his expedition to rebuild his burnt city of Firalut, and Clan Leader Taria making plans to set off to found a city in new lands for the Ticanee. Many have spoken in support of these ventures, including several clan leaders and the triumvirate. Plus, war season's trials are not far off, either -- and we can only wonder what it will be like, with the war season having been cancelled because of the Carnotti last year. Is it still there? Will there be a season? What will the Shamibelian host be like? And, with the plans underway for the new cities, will there be enough volunteers?
