The city is whirring with news, as turmoil seems to settle across the Firan lands!
As fall brought its coolness and rich harvest into the Firan lands again, the Eagle and Cockatrice clans found themselves faced by riots as they fell short of necessary goods. During the chaos, one of Clan Leader Zeysani's twin sons, Lianos, was kidnapped, vanishing despite all attempts to find them. In reaction, all of the clans shut their gates and performed full searches, but it was to no avail: he was not found. In the aftermath, both the Cockatrice and Eagle clans have taken strict measures to lower the corruption that ran rampant after the rioting, and the Eagle Clan remains locked down tight to all who might go in or out.
Further tragedy befell the Griffon Clan and the already-best Eagle Clan when Lady Eve, wife of Clan Leader Judanarius, was found dead at the Griffon Estate, apparently the victim of poison. It's not known who the poisoner is yet, but the royal Griffon and Eagle families are up in arms, hunting for the killer and promising a full investigation as the guards help.
Just a scant two days after Lady Eve's death, the Clan Council met to decide on funds for the Fall Festival, and discuss the upcoming unity vote. At this meeting, the topic of the nobility prize for pentathalons, started by the Ranivor, came up, and in a close vote it was removed as an option. The common people are furious that one of their means of advancement has been removed, and rioting broke out over the decision before it was quelled with promised by some of the council members to revisit the issue.
Even more shocking, the Hydra Clan has been locked out of the Republic and expelled from Anarinuell following an apparent dispute between Princess Eliana and Clan Leader Belik at the council meeting. Evidently, it happened just as it got started, and the Hydra Clan Leader stormed out, declaring that he would not be represented in the council until the Chimera proxy resigned from her position! The people are shocked that the Clan Leader would speak of Clan Council affairs so freely, and angered that he would make the demands he did. Following the meeting, Prince Triumvir Vahlgellan, flanked by the full remaining council, announced that the Hydrans were expelled and had 48 hours to leave the city, and that no citizen or clan was to trade with any Hydrans or they would be tried for treason against the Republic.
As the Hydrans fled north towards Arinzi from Anarinuell, carrying only what they could gather in the short amount of time allowed, the people began to wonder how the remaining clans will survive without the added goods of the Hydra. However, the clans have begun a united push, to try and cooporate so they can meet each others needs. Even more, people wonder how Hydra will survive, denied the chance to trade with the other clans and without the benefit of the protection and support of the others. Is Belik long for the throne? Is the Republic long to survive?
