Firanos and the Beasts
From FiranMUX
When Uf was created from the bursting flask of Firanos' collected dreams, not all of the dreams and nightmares merged into the Goddess. A few stray dreams coalesced into mythical beasts and monsters. Like the Goddess, these beasts are immortal. However, unlike the Goddess, if these beasts could be lured to sleep, they would disappear for one hundred years.
Firanos felt terribly guilty for unleashing some of these creatures and so he set about to get rid of the menacing ones. For Firanos, an undying God, one hundred years passed in the blink of an eye, and having to hunt down these beasts every 100 years and again lure them to sleep before they could do any damage was extremely tedious. So, Firanos went on a hunt for the most dangerous and sought to do away with them for good.

The Chimera
The Chimera was one of the beasts let loose at the birth of Uf. It has three heads, hoofed back feet, wings, and giant clawed lion's feet. Having a voracious appetite, the Chimera likes to feast on flesh and sometimes roamed over territories as large as 20 square miles eating all the way. Firanos was able to capture the chimera by cloaking its heads in fog so that it could not see him, and throwing a gigantic net over it. Firanos then dragged the snarling creature to a dungeon under the holy meeting place of the Gods. It is said that as the Chimera was being dragged by Firanos, the scraping of the net on the ground created the foothills that extend into the land of the Gold Dragon clan. Zutiv, who admired the beast, was not pleased by its capture.
The Carnotti
Another of the beasts unleashed at the birth of Uf was called the Carnotti. This eight legged creature of incredible density is fast and very dangerous as it has copper claws and teeth. It eats both flesh and metal. Because of this, Firanos could not capture it behind metal bars. Instead, Firanos had to create a burning ring of incredibly intense fire to enclose the beast. These walls of fire burn eternally in the dungeon space under the holy meeting place of the Gods. In order to capture the Carnotti, Firanos sent a swirling of fire to surround it and drive it into the dungeon.
The Werc
The Giant Werc was created out of the same explosion of dreams as the Goddess Uf. A dark dog-like creature, it snarls so viciously that even the bravest of warriors have been known to freeze in terror. The noise did not cause Firanos to freeze, but it did unnerve him. The Giant Werc is also known to foam at the mouth, and this foam is poisonous -- lethally so -- if it even touches the skin. For this task, Firanos sought the help of a great mortal named Mondar the Smith. Because Firanos never contacts mortals directly, he sent Uf with a dream to Mondar telling him to take the special metals collected by Firanos and forge them into a great solid muzzle to fit over the mouth of the Giant Werc. Mondar awoke to find a pile of different metals that he did not recognize at the foot of his bed. He did as he was asked in the dream (though trembling all the while) and when he was done, he transported the muzzle all the way to Firanos' Holy Temple in the lands of the Clan of the Griffon. Firanos took the muzzle and wrestled it onto the creature. Once the muzzle was in place the creature was unable to either snarl or bite, and the muzzle also contained the dangerous spittle. Firanos led the creature away by leash to the dungeons under the holy meeting place of the Gods. Mondar and all his descendants were blessed by Firanos, and the Mondarian line continues on today.
The Torcadand
Another of these beasts was called the Torcadand. Resembling a large cat, this beast feasts on human flesh and has two large tentacles growing from its back. Every time Firanos would grab this beast, it would teleport away. Firanos set up some mirrors in order to confuse the Torcadand, and then, when the Torcadand lunged at Firanos' reflection, Firanos seized it by one paw and clasped a golden manacle on it. The gold manacle prevented the beast from teleporting away, and Firanos was able to wrestle it into submission. Thereupon, Firanos locked the beast away in a dungeon under the holy meeting place of the Gods.
The Leparos
Another of the creatures unleashed when Uf was created from dreams was the Leparos. The Leparos is an extraordinarily muscled animal with the visage of a lion but the wings of a gigantic eagle. The Leparos is covered in thick brass scales. The roar of the Leparos is deafening. In order to catch the Leparos, Firanos asked Uf to carry him aloft with her wings and when the Leparos was in sight, Firanos had Uf let him go. He landed on the animal's back and tied a collar around its neck so tightly that it could only emit a squeak. As the creature nearly tumbled to the ground in surprise, Firanos pinned its wings and tied them together too, after which time the Leparos became more like a normal lion and was led to the dungeon under the holy meeting place of the Gods.
