The General Staff and You

As part of this year's campaign, Lord First General Donos has implemented a corps of officers and soldiers referred to as the "General Staff." This group is one part command staff, one part administrative staff, and, in some cases, one part battle commanders.

In general, the General Staff works to advise Lord First General Donos and ensure that his orders are carried out. It also serves to "screen" questions and concerns before they reach Donos, controlling the amount of information he has to deal with personally and resolving issues before they have to come to Donos's attention.

What does this mean?

• Even though they may not be in your direct chain of command, orders that come from the General Staff in many cases come from Donos. The General Staff should be listened to.

• Before going directly to Donos with a question, see if one of the General Staff can resolve it first. Donos thanks you in advance.

• Don't be surprised if members of the General Staff are asking questions or gathering information to help advise Donos. Help them as you would Donos.

• If you have information on a that might be useful, bring it to your commander or to the member of the General Staff responsible for that area of the campaign.

• Members of the General Staff may be in charge of various missions or projects as they are needed, even though they are not directly in the combat unit chain of command.
