Getting Help
From FiranMUX
Probably the best resource for finding out information about the game comes from other players. However, we recommend that you start looking for your answer in the help files first. Here's a sample question, and a few ways that it could be answered.
Pamy is a new player and has just gotten a new apartment on the game. But because her apartment is in the Bear district, she isn't sure how to get back to the Forum! She's lost. What should she do?
The first thing Pammy ought to do is type 'help lost'. Believe it or not, there's a very good and very detailed help file on just this situation. Firan has help files for most anything -- if you wonder about something, try 'help food' or 'help shoes'. You never know, there might be a file just about that exact same question. Now, if she couldn't find her answer in the Help file, her next bet would be to try asking on the Help channel.
The Help channel is part of Firan's com system. To see if you're on it, type 'comlist' -- that will bring up a list of your com channels. If you aren't on it, type 'addcom h=Help'. And then simply type 'h Help! I am lost!'. There's always someone on that channel who can give a helping hand.
If Pammy needed something that no one on the Help channel could help with, such as wanting a room built or desiring information about her character that isn't on her sheet, she would need to make a @request. 'help request' details this command and its uses, and it's the best way to get a response for important questions.
