It's true I used ta be a somebody in the Old City. All I had ta do was say my name, Gilin Istems, and people would git scared. But I ain't killed nobody in a long time, an' I miss it now an'gain. Not bad enough ta kill that horny ole goat of a Governor fer it though. I ain't never said a thing 'gainst him. But Ladonna there, she made up a song that done flayed him up one side and down th'other. So like, mebbe he heard the song, and then he gets real mad, ya catchin my drift? And so he goes to find Ladonna, see, and he tries ta wring her scrawny neck. But ya know, in self-defense, jus mebbe she accidentally/on purpose tied 'im up in a rug see? An' leaves him outside ta freeze ta death. Accidents happen all the time, right?
Background
Gilin's pretty broken up to hear about Throgana getting killt. See, Gilin's mother was a close friend of Throgana and never get over the way Governor Hralib worked over her mind, and made her love him. Gilin kind of feels like she owes it to her mother to find out who killed Throgana.

Round One Reveal
Of 'course' I knows how much of a selfish-bitch tha' Caree is! She's one who'd backstab anybody jus fer not gettin her way. After all, Caree used tae be my frien', well as much as anyone coulda been in those days, but now? Now she's a fecken slaver! Ways I sees it there ain't no reason she wouldn't and couldn't turn on Hralib, jus like she did everyone else.
Everyone knows that Katriana 'used' ta belong ta Hralib, an that when she did, Throgana persuaded Hralib ta sacrifice Katriana's sickly children, and nurse their bastards instead. Who knows jus what mighta snapped in that lil over pamper'd head a hers, right?
Everyone under the sun knows tha'Tatomir was angry when Hralib was picked ta be Governor of Anarinuell instead of himself--ya shoulda seen it, he was so angry that his hands started sparkin, an then put em on a hapless slave and sucked the life right out of him. I seen him do it too! Good thing I weren't the one tha' was within reach that night. Mighta been he was angry enough ta murder Hralib cause of it?

Gilin has a special talent, one she don't broadcast ya know, but she's always been right good fer bein' able ta steal jus'bout anything. It's in her blood, what can she say?
It was shiney, and it coulda been worth some coin to the righ' person, right? So Gilin stole Tatomir's Ring of Hate. It's kind of a habit, ya know?
When she wore it though, it made her wanna slip right back into the ole days an the fun of slittin someone's throat, she even felt a bit more enraged and murderous than she could 'member really feelin before! Murderous enough to kill Hralib, fer sure. So, since she had a good thin'goin here, she stopped wearing it, ok?
Well if ya want the full honest truth? Gilin actually gave the Ring of Hate ta Ladonna and 'asked', ok well more like hired her ta find out what it was. Who better ta ask than someone who is 'lot closer to the people with the answers right?
So after the goats big party night, ya know the Night of Obala's Pride? It was in the wee hours of the not quite yet mornin, when Gilin finally got ta put her Old City skills to use, breaking into the Temple of Zin. Not that there was much of a challenge to it.

Gilin knows that she gave Ladonna the Ring of Hate, that she'd appropriated from Tatomir, because it made the usually dancin fool alot more violent and unstable than usual. What if Ladonna actually put it on an was wearin the fool thing? It was awfully shiney, an' well, what shiney's were ever safe roun' Ladonna? It could have made her kill Hralib.
Whenever Hralib purchased a night with that used ta be Lady Yvette, he would make her perform her "special trick" an' she would always return in tears, bitter and murderous. Who knows, what ever this "special trick" was, that he loved so much, could be he ordered it from her jus one too many times ya know? It was obvious as the nose on yer face tha' she hated Hralib and woulda been cheerin ta see him swimmin with the fishes.
Fissia can't stand Hashi, not that many people can, but she thinks he's a worthless husband, and has pretty much openly wished that he would jus shivel up an die a quick an painful death. Why would she kill Hralib and jus end up with extending her own torture by makin sure that he'd inherit his father's slaves . . . unless she . . . ya don't think she knew they'd be blamed for the murder an killed off before Hashi could inherit, do ya?
Hashi's dog Spike seems to be devoted only to Fissia, from what we've watched, she's trained the poor mutt ta kill on command. It coulda the one to have left the scratch mark on Hralib's body and done chomped off his finger, obviously it wasn't trained enough if that's all it got, though.
Ok so, its a well known fact that Fissia threatens her slaves by tellin them that if they don't obey, she'll cut off their fingers, puree em an then feed them ta Spike fer lunch. You'd think with all the fingers that mutt's been fed by now, its gotta have indigestion.
How she did it who knows, usually Yvette kint be parted from 'er precious lil sparkly earbobs. But, Gilin knows that Yvette loaned her favorite earrings to Tabitha fer the goats party, the Night of Obala's Pride.
Gilin just happens ta be in the knowin that Hralib's missin son always seemed ta favor Aylina as his own personal whore, and some say he had even fallin in love with 'er!
But Gilin also knows that Aylina has been known more than once, ta put a potion or two (or four), or special herb into her cookin. Anythin that gets the job done the way ya wants it right?
Aylina musta really been on 'fire' last night ta end up lookin like she was dancin in the firepit. Her purty lil slippers had ash on the bottoms of em.
Gilin just happens ta know that late last night, Aylina returned from Hashi's tents carrying a fairly large bundle, thinkin she could get by without bein noticed by at least someone, she went an done buried it too!
But, Aylina couldn't have murdered Hralib, could she? She was entirely too calm, fer her norm of bein ya know, right off 'er rocker. The night of that goat party, Obala's Pride, she even woke up an had herself a late night snack, she even called it 'finger-licking-good'. The self satisfied smile on her face woulda been enough ta send even the strongest man down to his knees, what coulda she been up to?
Gilin is seriously thinkin that Fara knows more bout Throgana and how she died than she's saying.
Gilin knows that Hralib had a great ol' time an knocked up Melani, he even told her that he was so proud of how she'd finally given in to him that he was goin ta'nnounce it ta everyone. Dunno bout you, but Melani coulda jus offed Hralib jus ta keep his big mouth shut an Torianos from finding out? (Hralib liked to brag to women he slept with, including brothel slaves.)
Everyone knows that Hralib was tryin ta knock up his wife Nobifa, but after a while, got to the point he didn't trust her 'special' fertility potions that she'd been takin, so he commanded Melani to get some fresh ones for him, he probably was gonna make sure she got one of the good ones fer a change of pace. (Hralib talked in bed.)

Gilin actually hit the sack fairly early after the Night of Obala's Pride, unlike alot of people 'round. Never really found that stupid party all that celebratory.
But jus at that point when she was comfortable an everythin, Sarina had ta go an wake her up in the wee hours of the morning, all panicking, sayin somethin bout Dyanna havin locked Melani inta the Temple of Zin an left her ta freeze ta death. The smart thing was that Sarina came to Gilin, havin thought that bein from the Old City, she might know 'ow ta fix it.
Gilin and Sarina snuck their way over to the temple usin every shadow, an some that probably wouldn't a been thought of usin. When they were done, Gilin'd done helped break Melani out, and even saved her life.
Melani told Gilin and Sarina, in total confidence of course, that while she was locked up an freezin ta death, she saw Throgana and Fara burying somethin behind the temple.
So, Gilin thought there was no time like the present ta find out what was so important ta bury in the middle of the night. They dug up the bundle that Fara and Throgana had tried ta hide, an turned out ta be an opened bottle of Brizo's finest wine, and Tatomir's bloody dagger.

Not that she isn't doin it most of the time anyways, but Yvette's been bawlin an snifflin, bein unusually upset all day. Ya think mebbe it could be a heavy dose a'guilt on those lil shoulders?
Gilin found out on the Night of Obala's Pride, that Yvette had been seen all shakin and bawlin 'er eyes out sayin, "I killed a man." Like a mad woman.
After diggin up their stuff, Gilin knows that Hralib's keys weren't with the junk that Fara and Throgana tried ta hide. But somehow, Sarina had Hralib's keyring when she had come ta gets Gilin that night--now how'd Sarina pocket those when she weren't lookin?
It was the funniest sight ta see really, Savaren came 'home' wet and shiverin like a wet mongrel the Night of Obala's Pride, and even now, with all the time passed he seems ta be sufferin from a nice healthy dose of hypothermia.
But then, Savaren also came 'home' with a bloody nose the Night of Obala's Pride. Ya don't think he finally grew a pair an tried ta do something, endin up in a fight with Hralib?

Unfortunately, Gilin didn't have the time or inclination ta be offin Hralib. Nice idea, but its jus too bad. Thinkin bout it, it seems like it might have been fun.
