Around the Walls:
Our soldiers have gone to war and slowly news is filtering back and forth regarding events both in the city and at the war front. News from the front is sparse at best, but it would cheer them greatly to receive good news from home.
Rumour has it that two Ticanee recently married on the battlefield and were even allowed to consummate the marriage. While details still remain rather sketchy people have started to grumble about how unfair this is to the rest of the soldiers, and wondering if perhaps shipping a few whores to the front might help raise morale more than letters.
Lady Akiva is once more seeking donations to aid the war effort, this time of Calendula lotions and horses. Anyone who can aid her is encouraged to contact the Lady via messenger or deliver items to the military warehouse near the barracks in the northeast of the Palace District.
Lady Galadra has offered her services to the illiterate of the city in the form of lessons and scroll writing so that they too can send their good wishes to the soldiers at the front. Contact her if you need help with a scroll.
Prince Zaridos recently announced that he would not be heading to the front this year as his services are more needed on the homefront than at the battlefield. Some cheer him for staying at home where he's needed; others jeer at his making excuses to not fight.
Tensions seem to be rising between the Bears and the Hydrans. It seems the bears are devastated by the loss of Lady Gemella and some are even turning her into a martyr figure. With so many at war could this prove to be a disastrous tension?
In remembrance of Lady Gemella the Infant Care Foundation is offering services and supplies to families in need, including midwife services. Cradles, swaddling, classes on childrearing and other services will be provided. They also seek crafters to aid with supplies and donations. If you care to donate then Lady Senika is the one to contact.
All bank accounts proprietary to the White Dove have been transferred to the possession of Mes Gilin Istems, apparently with the backing of the Viceroy and Lord Docci. Some suspect this is as a further financial insult to ex-Lady Dyanna who was so recently sentenced to the Dove for cheating on her husband with several commoners, others wonder if it's another step towards the Viceroy taking charge of all the whorehouses in the city.
Speaking of whores, recently men ran out of the Men's Bath in the Palace District with horrified looks on their faces -- and the word spread -- one of the whores was working in the Men's Bath and her water broke. The Men's Bath has never been more empty since the snowstorm and there was no water inside.
Lady Ristana announced that she was opening the Manosik mansion to all Gold Dragon citizens for a silent feast and prayers in honour of those at war. All attendees are expected to bring their own food, drinks will be supplied. (@bb/read 30/10 for details)
