Griffon Newsletter 101 - 9/10/04
From FiranMUX
Sorry for the lack of newsletter for the last couple of weeks, things have been busy and I have just been getting behind on a few things. Thank you for voting for me in the recent faction head elections, even with the lack of newsletters.
News:
New Marcello
Late on a chilly fall night, Nicolette once again, felt the first pangs of labor. Upon noticing the normal feelings, she at once went to bed and had a midwife attend her.
The birth was long, and hard, and very long, but in the end.. a lovely baby girl was born. She is very tiny, but healthy with blue eyes, fair skin, and short wisps of light blonde hair. A picture of her mother, with her father's eyes.
Looking from the baby to the midwife, she grins. This one shall be named for my husband: Priana. So, Nicolette and Cyprian celebrate another Griffon birth. Mes Priana Marcello!
New Junik
Galadra and Zafir welcome their seventh child into the world and into the Griffon Clan as well, Lady Galia Junik. Galia was born very healthy and Galadra is doing well too.
War Season
War season came and went, a little shorter on cammera than usual, but still tension filled as usual. This time it looks like the Bear clan gave up a lot for this fight - more than the Gold Dragons did: the lives of thier noblemen. Lord Xegolus, Lord Trikon, and Lord Halakeye all died at the front, though Halakeye's death was caused by an accidental slip by a healer (Sentry Odoni, also of the bear clan) digging out an arrow from the nobleman. Sentry Terpsika and Centurion Kasikonus also died at the front.
It is rumored that the death of Centurion Kasikonus was caused because a Commander Zoey ran from the face of danger. The Hydra clan has always been up against women and the military, and this just proves thier point..
Fallout of Lord Halaykeye's Death
It seems quite a few Gold Dragons think that Sentry Odoni intentionally killed Lord Halakeye, who orignally was a Gold Dragon, and even riots started in the Gold Dragon district.. there was a masked figure also inflaming the situation - he rather quickly accued the Aurik family of being trators to the clan, and formed a mob to burn down their house.. Here is the catch - the man in the mask was Sett Aurik. And we thought the Gold Dragons were a little stupid, but burning down ones home?!?
Chimera Update
The Dragon has been housed in the Chimera's roost, and being treated like a king while it is lodged here waiting for the other bits of the Chimera. Feeding him has turned out to be no simple matter however since he requires horses for food... four horses a (IC) day in fact. Hopefully the other teams have good news soon, otherwise the city might end up with a rather big shortage of horses before long.
Lady Pia and Princess Selene were arrested for what?!?
Rumors were heard that a trend Faythe started in this city went all the way quite a few cities. One rumor said that two noble lookalikes were arrested for impresonating Lady Pia and Princess Selene without a valid whoring licence.. This was later confirmed when Clan Leader Zeysani sent a representative to Lurashar to make some enquires. Of course Lady Pia and Princess Selene were imediately reliesed from jail and given a special escort back to town.
New Griffons:
- Rishon - This young man truly resembles what one imagines a teffie might look like. His looks offer an easy aura of charm and his smile is as dazzling as the sun shining off the True Temple. It's obvious he's quite the social creature; he is almost always talking with someone and has a natural ease to his presence. There is often a hint of mischief that hides behind his handsome eyes, which only adds to his attractive looks.
- Niva - Niva is a plain faced girl with the look of an undernourished milk-maiden. Her nose is too bulbous to make her a beauty, and it flares at the base widely. Her eyes are usually downcast, and she walks with a shuffle.
- Vinik - Vinik Istariniad. He's almost handsome, in a boyish way; Vinik's only real flaw is the small scar on his left cheek.

Praises/Disses?
Diss suggestions:
- Aurik family: For those of you who are in the Istariniad family, then the Auriks are usually a good diss target.
Praise suggestions:
- Soldiers who went to war to keep the city safe.
Please, remember that praises and disses should only be used if it is IC for your character to do so. Make your own choices, I am only suggesting ideas that your character might use.
New Features/commands:
Recently staff have been working making horses more useful for those who can afford to own them. At this stage, two new features have been added - first, the ability to run (limited teleport) if your land/riding skill is sufficent, as well as the ability to secure a mount in a public place when you are otherwise away from it.
The command for running costs at this stage 500 stenis per time used, which represents the cost of maintenance for the beast. The securing of the mount doesn't remove the chance the horse is taken, but it does reduce it quite a bit.
The help files to read if you want to know more are: 'help horse system' 'help secure' 'help unsecure'
