Griffon Newsletter 18 - 5/24/02

At last, I hear you say, a newsletter. Well, yeah. Sorry it took so long, but things have happened - mostly odd things..Anyway, here's the news.

This week has seen a lot of odd things happen. Not least the spate of arson that seems to have engulfed the Griffon Clan. It all started with the reportings of twins born into the Istariniad..well, clan, really, can be the one description. Fairly naturally, a riot ensued, but why what happened in the riot actually happened can only be anyone's guess, but, the manor was burned. To the ground, pretty much. This, too, not long after Mer Elikos Istariniad himself died, in mysterious circumstances - as well as one of the 'twins'. Not long after, a wing of the Griffon Apartments was also burned - bringing more assumptions of arson, and even the death of an Eagle, one Lord Centurion Arius Iberik, much to everyone's sadness. One can only wonder what is going on within the clan - is it outside influence, or can it be someone is unhappy within the clan, and is hell-bent stirring up strife? It isn't even too long after the mysterious posters talking about Clan Leader Jalil of the 'mighty' Gold Dragon Clan - as they like to call themselves, surely trying to substitute for a lack of something there! - and how he had betrayed the Clan. One thing is for sure, the near future will not be dull...or the skies boring black, for that matter, if things keep going in this vein.
The long awaited marriage Sir Tatus Marcello and Judge Pomponia Marcello has happened! Or should I say re-marriage? Word on some member's of the clan is that this is a good thing, and surely it is, but..well, one has to wonder why they did get married, and how long this one will last.
This is not the only marriage in the recent spate, either. Lord Pangaros Ista Bannos, the crime lord of the Old City, married Mother Isa, High Priestess of Eesha, in what can only be an arranged marriage. The ex-princess of the Republic, Lady Bashona Istabannos, has married for a third time to Lord Trikon Ista Barun, of the Chimera Clan. One has to wonder, also, how long will this last? And is there another husband in the wings that nobody knows about that Lady Bashona didn't marry?
Last, but by no means least, is the marriage of Lady Yasha, of the Eagle Clan, to Lord Sabinuss Rissik..Yes, he who was to marry Lady Petrina of the Bear Clan. Indeed, they did this without even *telling* Lady Petrina - or so it would seem. This is typical of the way in which the Eagle Clan acts, and can only have been instigated by, yes, another case of twins, Clan Leader Zeysani.
Praises and Disses
Coming off that...there are two people to diss this week, if one would choose to. Yasha and/or Zeysani, for being so barefaced dishonorable. To praise, really, any member of the Griffon Olympics team, who came fifth, which, really, isn't what we all hoped. Any praises, though, would go a long way in raising the self-esteem for our athletes, who came so far behind the clan of the Gold Dragons it just isn't funny. Maybe next time we will do better?
Finally, I'd like to welcome any new players to the Clan, telling them that if they need anything, at all, don't hesitate to ask on the Griffon Channel - addcom 'gr'=Griffon, if you haven't already done so - we have some very knowledgable players in the clan.
