An OOC thanks to all who sent me good gossip to include in this, special thanks to Nasha for her fun gossip trend that I had to include it verbatim! I want to remind everyone to welcome the newest members to the clan and make sure all the Griffons know about the board and the channel addcom gr=Griffon If there is anything else that should be included here or you want in next months newsletter @mail me or talk to me via page/channel...and any ideas for rp sessions as a clan, let me know! We've got a good and active group (if a bit...uhm, rowdy at times) It's a fun time to be a Griffon!

While Emri is off sweeping the floors, directing guests in the soup kitchen, two of the cooks gossip over huge pots of well...you guessed it, soup. Their laughter and merriment ring out, occasionally catching the attention of some of the patrons.
"Have you heard about Zakaro Lapis?""Isn't he the tall one? Got that melancoly smile?" *Nudge nudge* "trust me, thems the ones to watch out for?" laughing, the cook fans herself "Anyway, I heard he's been looking for someone to cook for him, if ya know what I mean." *laugh* "well a man like that could use some good cooking. Heard him asking around after a carpenter too, probably some project of his."
"You still staying with your brother, Anise? A shame that no one aint seen about getting that pile o' rock the Griffon Wings Apartments repaired yet. Lotta folks outta home."
Letting their voice lower as the two women cast glances about at the patrons, any targets for their gossip?
"OC rabble? I hear there are about 600 still hanging out in the Griffon district, y'all might have seen the Fist out an about, him being Pangaros' right hand man...you can be sure regular folks have been giving him plenty of space on the streets."
"Hey, didja hear? Andreos Marcello got married, and to that nice Passonia too. Rumor is they already got around to starting a family...good on them, we need more Griffon bebes."
"That Lapis family! Rumor has it that Monti is a scamp that needs a firm hand, first getting arrested and then getting half his family arrested too! Course Chloe ain't a Griffon anymore, but plenty of folks around here remember her ...uhm...high spiritedness when it comes to family. Here's hoping them uncles of his get that boy straightened out before he ends up in the stocks...or worse."
"Lord Draugik Vasen-Darkas?!?" a rather loud exclimation, the other cook shushing her quickly, "Plenty of happenings at the Vasen-Darkas residence, but not all bad. Heard a few of the fellas are already placing bets on the next Olympics...discreetly, mind. They are sure we'll win it!! Others are overheard speculating on how much additional business having the haffie High General as their sponsor would bring. Mes' whisper about noble privileging and a few of the bolder maidens find reason to pass the estate on occasion, even though the newest Lord Vasen-Darkas is said to not be in residency...yet."
The two women go on to the Vasen-Darkas family itself...a juicy hotbed of gossip to be had.
Alls not well in the Vasen-Darkas Estate. While the family seems to have survived the siege by the vile goats, the house itself sustained damage to the foyer when a griffon plowed through it, landing on Nasha and Lord Vahseli within. Both survived, though they were wounded. While perhaps all the family may be alive and well, there is grumblings about the absentee High Priestess, High General, and Lady Zayes who seems to be ignoring her own family and home for the troops. That very same griffon carcass /still/ rots in the foyer and with the summer heat is setting up quite the stink. It is near bad enough to drive the remaining family out of the house. Servants and kin alike are wondering if Zayes is going bother getting their home fixed and cleaned anytime soon. Though there are comments floating about making light of the fact that no burglar would dare enter that estate to try and rob it, despite the irritable guards, the stink would flatten them no sooner than entering that foyer and they'd be caught for sure.
There is rumors floating about that a sentry of the first division had also pulled a blade on the children of the Vasen-Darkas household, but despite inquiries, nothing seems to be advancing with the investigation. Is Zayes more intent on the Goats than her own family?
The last juicy topic of the week seems to be the sudden, forced marriage of Ranazeel Vasen-Darkas to the haffie High-General Draugik. The estate, except for Zayes who seems to welcome it, is in an uproar. Ranazeel definitely is shocked and less than pleased. Rumor has it, Draugik after the failed attempt to wed Lady Aldrissa Ista Barun had gone down a list of available, single noble women before Lady Ranazeel Vasen-Darkas, who was unable to find a good enough excuse to not be wed. Many are in an uproar at the abuse of Eesha's blessings this way. The people wonder why Draugik didn't just wait til the fall festival and win that pentathalon to gain nobility, instead of using Eesha's blessing to get it instead. Nasha openly admits to praying to her patron Deity Soli to open the ground beneath Draugiks haffie feet and swallow him whole for the blasphemy he has done.
Driving the rumors further that he just is using the marriage to gain nobility is the talk that he has yet to even enter the home he has married into. There are many taking bets on if Draugik will ever set foot in his unwilling brides bedroom.
On to the rest of the clan...these women sure know how to keep a topic lively, is there no rest for the wicked?
"Good news though, heard we got a local poison tester, Mes Niva. Mes Niva is a servant to the Royal Griffon family, and she is Lord Judanarius' personal poison taster. She can make potions and health remedies. She's unmarried and doesn't socialize. Heard she was raised by them nasty goats and don't speak Firan that well...poor girl."
"A yellow rose in the Griffon clan? Oh you mean that new mes, Saffrosa? A sturdy looking girl. Heard a rumor she's good with barn animals...maybe looking for a sponsor or a job. The mers of the clan are already hoping to catch her in the hay." "Hey!"
"Mes Dimitra is back in town, already hunting up supplies and taking commissions. A sponsoree of Lady Ranazeel Vasen-Darkas, rumor has it her clothes are a delight to see and wear. You can usually find her at her shop 'Stitch in Time' (coords -9.8 in the Griffon District)"
"Sad shame about the Griffon losses, have you heard? Mes Amelita, after all she went through, got captured by the Shami's, and that artist, Fannisha? You know the haffie who likes to paint about death and stuff...wasn't she an initiate to the temple of Unot?"
"Sounds like the clans still looking for supplies to stock up the larders and such come winter, plenty of needs if folks have it in their supplies to spare... (@clan/info) Lady Petrina remembers things like that when it comes to needing something down the road, she's a good lady, hopefully she's got a good poison taster."
Finally their chatter catches Emri's attention and she scowls, shooing them off to more important things, like peeling potatoes and washing dishes.
