Overview

GROOM

A groom takes care of the mounts used by the Firan people, generally horses, but sometimes griffons for the clan or Republic militaries. They usually have animal appraisal skills and riding skills. They also have knowledge in keeping animals healthy, and in training.

Grooms might work at the Royal Stables, or they might work for nobles, tending to their personal animals. They don't do the dirty work that stable hands do, they are at the top of the ladder regarding caring for the animals, and often are regarded as farriers or healers for animals.

A groom is similar to a trainer, however a groom is focused more on the care and maintenance of an already raised and trained animal, where a trainer is more focused on the breeding and training of the animals they specialize.

Equipment

Aside from the animals that the groom would be caring for, equipment a groom might use would be:

  • wagon - for transporting large amounts of items
  • bales of hay - horses need food for energy to move (if they are hungry, they won't move until fed.)
  • bandages - helps most wounds heal faster over time
  • healing medicines - to heal wounds faster. Currently, there are calendula lotions, comfrey ointments, and tea tree oil.
