Homemaker
From FiranMUX
Overview
Homemaker is really a modern term, but in FiranMUX it encompasses the variations of a woman remaining at home. This includes mother and housewife. Though Firan society is more egalitarian than the Romans and Greeks of our ancient world, the double standard is still alive and well, and women are expected to cook, clean, mend, and care for their families. Thus, skills such as cooking, tailoring, weaving, and child rearing are all important for the homemaker.
A homemaker is typically the woman of the house, who stays behind and takes care of domestic needs while her husband is working in the fields, or in the military, or another job. It is common for the duties to include cooking, cleaning, child caring, and perhaps some tutoring of the child. It is extremely rare for the homemaker to be a male.
