Overview
Hufimo is an adventurer. All his life he's heard tales of great heroes and he grew wanting to be one of them. Those stories gifted him with unrealistic and idealistic moral values that often led him to put himself in risk to save or protect others even without any reward or expected recognition. He had upon him the stigma of his family’s past errors. He grew hearing that he was expected to failed and be lesser than the rest, which contributed to his difficulty in trusting and relating to others. It also made him a very angry child that instead of cowering would clash with those that seemed to be against him, sometimes displaying an impulsive chaotic behaviour.
He was born during chaos, destruction and death. Some say that he absorbed the spirit of the moment at the time of his birth; others say that it runs in the family. But there is also the rumour that his mother, the uffian priestess Iona, and Hufimo were saved by Uf, marking the beginning of his strong religious bond towards the goddess. Even the uffian clergy considered him an extremist but he was accepted as an initiate. However after his disagreement with one of them, he was cast out and no longer seen at the temple or trying to stop cockfighting events.
One thing has not changed. He still wants to go out and seek whatever adventure he can find. His curiosity and care for birds remained from his childhood to adulthood. And as he's grown older, Hufimo has developed a new appreciation for griffon animals. He can often be seen talking to them about his grand plans for adventure and the smell of griffons seems to forever be upon him, as though he is never far from one for long. Some would say it's almost as though he prefers their company to that of people, which easily explains why he has become a bird handler, griffon breeder and pilot.
Family Life
Parents
- Iona - he loves his mother dearly. She claims that she nearly died when he was born, but Lady Uf saved them. He admires her for having lived many adventures and for standing up for her believes. He is aware that his mother knows more than what she can say, and that she speaks with Uf and gets answered back. Hufimo has learnt to not ask and rely on her good judgment.
- Rafi - Hufimo knows that Rafi has been on great adventures, has seen many mythical creatures and might have even seen Firanos. He planned on following in the footsteps of his father, except for the guard part. A good adventurer can't be tied down. To add to that he has always believed that the First Division mistreated his father even though Rafi gave most of his time to it, stealing him away from his family. Those are the reasons that made Hufimo grow with a profound dislike for the guards. Unfortunately, Hufimo has already follow his father's steps in terms of reprovable actions, like accidentally killing someone.
Siblings
- Phaisia - his older sister is an odd one, since they were kids that she tries to come along on his 'adventures' or throwing things together that look like awful inventions. However, as she gets older and gains more knowledge her inventions seem to make more sense. They have become a team, she does the background checks which usually involve scrolls and researches and he takes care of the physical survival aspects of the adventures and they already have several planned.
- Nasrena - she is about eight years younger that Hufimo. The baby of the family. When he was still a kid he was a bit jealous of the extra attention given to her, so he started calling her 'Turtle' and say that she was as ugly as one, inspired by her doll and clothes with that animal theme. Nowadays he still calls her Turtle but in a playful caring way. He is very protective of his sisters, in particular of his younger sis.
Marriage
- Tamina - she is four years older than Hufimo but without doubt a beautiful redhead. She always smells deliciously well, as if good enough to eat and she is actually a great cook. She likes kids, being a nanny, so she will likely become a good mother. More than that, she is patient or at least tries to be, which is a good quality that increases the chances of a good marriage.
The Ellashar family
Hufimo was originally born Ellashar however, after his aunt Charissa’s attempt of killing lord Taleo, the family greatly lost face and many would murmured that they were probably all followers of the Lion King.
It was unbearable for his parents to be even think that they were being related to the Dark God and for that reason they made the request to leave the Ellashar family. The request was accepted and on October 5th in the year 24 A.U the Fengan Family was born.
For several years the Fengan family lived at their cottage in Royal Chimera lands but the two families were always close. Currently they share the same household. The last Ellashar are Majeed (Hufimo's grandfather), Vadim (Iona's cousin) and Protik, the monkey.
Hufimo's lifetime
- The cave adventure was his first one. He was 4 years old. They spent weeks trapped in the cave at the south border of Sarkaran. The children that went on the 'adventure' were: Ava, Gemma, Rialla, Paydor, Nakia, Vinya, Danisa, Srelik, Zutra, Belome, and Saria.
- He was near the chimera while it was asleep. He went to see it with his mother and older sister when he as 6 yrs old.
- He saw the cockatrice fly in the skies when he was 7 yrs old. Some years later he explored the stone palace and found a petrified griffon.
- When he was about 8 years old, during the air raids, a griffon fell on their house, they manage to escape unhurt. Great dodging, massive luck, big thrill.
- At the age 9 to 10 he lead a group of kids into another cave exploration but this time at Anarinuell, they managed to find a way out and he got a rabbit out of it which was of his sister until it was mysteriously turned into a stew, probably thanks to his mother or aunt’s intervention.
- The Fengan kids being the research to know about the giant eagles, several people are 'interviewed'. The more helpful ones were Lady Xenobia and Dame Urtenia.
- He led the kids Anti-Baths 'Rotten Tomatoes' Revolution at the forum.
- Hufimo mapped the Old City, got the a general idea of its hierarchy and identified two moles. And best of all, he was smart enough to keep that information to himself until it was good for something.
- He went on the father-son trip with the then prince proxy Torianos, when he was 11 years old. And there, he:
- risked his own soul trying to save a sailor from soul death by jumping into the sea during a storm. He didn't succeed in saving him but he survived, having suffered a shark bite scar at his right leg.
- planned a rescue mission, with many traps and manoeuvres, which were successful though Prince Torianos accidentally hit Lord Marsalos with an axe during it.
- made his first kill. He executed four men by prince Torianos' command.
- got the zinnian tattoo on his right shoulder.
- He, in Zateen's company, rescued a baby that was abandoned in the woods. That baby is now known as Uffira Dranieez. He suggested the name that, by coincidence or fate, Jahala had also thought of.
- He took a beating for a prince.
- He accidentally kills General Icarius while playing with a ballista. He confesses, assuming all the blame though it is rumoured that he wasn't alone.
- At the age of 12, he saw with his own eyes an intervention from a god, possibly Zutiv.
- The Fengan kids reached a dead end in their research about the giant eagles and focused their energy in praying for them to come to the city. Two giants eagles arrived to the city a few months afterwards. Coincidence? Possibly but they don’t think so.
- After the guards gave up, he discovered the whereabouts of a missing orphan girl and she was freed from her captivity.
- When he was 13, he went on a quest to find the Legendary Cloak of Bannos. The said cloak was given to the clan leader Diamia. The crimson feather he wears is he token of that adventure.
- He became a pilot at 14. During an Air Raid, without any aid he successfully scouted and found enemy pilots, the only ones that the Airforce was able to find.
- At the age of 15, Hufimo along with Lord Adan, Lady Tanya, mes Zekki, Lord Marsalos, and mer Jerrom, rescues the little girl who was stuck in the well, that was clearly injured.
- Hufimo is cast out of the uffian temple after an argument with Kodiachi about the roles of the uffian clergy. Apparently it was considered that his attempt to please lady Uf was worse than her success in displeasing Her, since he broke mortal laws and she didn't.
- At 16, he becomes the youngest, most knowledgeable, bird handler in the city. His knowledge goes from the most common birds to griffons, and he begins to focus on learning about mystical birds and in finding his 'perfect mount'.
- Fighting to the death against shamis during an Air Raid. He refused to retreat and leave his fellow soldiers though being seriously injured, resulting in his own death. However it is not widely know that he died and was revived by the goddess of winds, only a few soldiers were present when it happened and some still aren’t sure about what they saw.
- People called him a fool when he used to say that one day he would fly to Ellish and be one of the first to set feet on the free city of Ellish. He only got the flying part wrong, as he was on the ground operating the ballista when in the war season of 42 A.U they freed Ellish.
- Hufimo marries mes Tamina Tahani on March 9th, in the year 43 A.U.
Scandals
- Firan time: 10:52:49 AM on Sun Dec 2, in the year 34 A.U. - While trying to find info about Torvahl and the giant eagles, he is charged of annoying the ticanee leaders with messengers. He is conscripted to the Chimeran military after the CoS.
- Firan time: 03:01:46 AM on Sun Sep 27, in the year 36 A.U. - the child Hufimo is found guilty as charged for one count of Killing, of General Icarius Dranieez, several counts of Assault and Battery, of assorted injuries to the other members of the Dranieez family and a count of Vandalism, for damage to the Dranieez home. A charge of Regulation Violation for illegal speech-making was also considered in this judgement (the public confession). He is sentenced to live with the Dranieez family for 5 years (till September 27, 41 AU), obeying the family, the Cockatrice Military (the Cockatrice Claw Cadets before his Ceremony) and Clan as if he's one of their own and conscripted Republic military at the age of 16 for a period of 10 years.
- Firan time: Mar 04, in the year 40 A.U. - Discussion at the Temple of Eesha about Nisa and her sex life, the at the time unconfirmed pregnancy of a kid that he was possibly the father of and his refusal to marry her in that surprised wedding without any legal permission organized by lord Ranselis.
- Firan time: 09:27:22 PM on Sat Apr 20, in the year 40 A.U. - the first non-ticanee outside the Ticanee clan to ever be sentenced with the crime of gross stupidity and be removed of any will and abjectly subservient to a specified person.
- Firan time: 12:51:49 PM on Tue May 14, in the year 40 A.U. - charged with 11 crimes of regulation violation: 10, one for each scrolls left in the city asking for people to make the effort to please Uf by not eating birds and not killing or using birds for fun or profit, as well as to sleep, nap and pray in hopes of having the birds return to the temple. And one charge for not wanting to let go of his blessed feather while in jail, since it could be seen as a mortal risk for the other prisoners. He gets a suspended sentence of ten years serving full-time at the front, put in effect if he commits another crime, and one year without speaking.
Miscellany
Habits
- Uf’s World visits - The habit of respecting the sleeping and nap hours was something incited by his mother, which he religiously followed until his young adulthood. He still enjoys it but doesn’t does it as if it was some sort of law.
- Flying - Hufimo has always dreamt about flying, it also made him feel closer to Uf. He mostly likes the sense of freedom it gives him.
- Whoring - He has had a favourite girl for a very long time.
- Drinking - Though he rarely gets drunk he is also never completely sober.
Likes
- Booze - Kamnestran ale is his favorite and he can't craft without it. Normal ale and whiskey are his usual second choices.
- Women with voluptuous hourglass figures - because they are hot.
- Sparring matches - a good way to solve issues and measure strengths and weaknesses.
- Stories - He grew with stories and he still enjoys hearing them. He knows thousands stories. The majority have historical and/or religious references, though many are also just for entertainment. But only Nazeera and Uffira have the privilege of hearing them.
Dislikes
- Emotional intimacy - Though he has the patience to listen about others, he dislikes talking about himself and especially being asked about "his feelings". It is a challenge to have him open up and allow someone to really know him.
- His weakness of women - He is unable to resist a woman that tempts him in the "right way", it is as if his willpower lowers to the point of becoming nonexistent.
- Arguments - With guys the issues are solved by sparring and with some after match booze. But women want it differently. He gets very frustrated whenever they seem to want and begin to argue with him, he has the tendency to leave them arguing alone and keep his distance for days or weeks, if not more.
- Aviary's lock changes - He can't fly if doesn't have the right key to get to the griffons, which has happened often enough to become a dislike.
