Payudos' Hydra Poop

VOLUME III - November 11, 2001

It is just before winter in Arinzi, this being the last week before the month of December begins, and all over the fair Hydran city, people are working dilligently to meet their clan's needs. Through great leadership, hard work, and perhaps a little bit of Divine Favour from the Productive One, Zutiv, the clan has met nearly all of their needs; it is, however, quite blessed in its spartan attitude, for much of its wants have remained unfulfilled.

With the wise appointment of Mer Quadeem N'gadanik to governor of Arinzi, the city has only continued to flourish. Already more buildings such as the clinic and the community centre have begun popping up, both with rather grandiose plans for assisting the clan with its needs in the future. Mer Payudos, youngest son of the governor, has been appointed to the position of Minister of Health and Public Welfare; his first proclamation in that capacity was to urge those skilled in medicine to come forward and assist in the clinic's operation. Also he asks that any skilled in the ways of weaponry contact him, for there is much hunting still needed to be done, for the good of the clan. Additionally, there will be a need for olives in the future, to be pressed into oil; such is a main ingredient of tea tree oil, a healing salve that the Hydrans could use more of.

Also, working under Mer Payudos are Mes Hattie Mageeran, who serves as a quite competent healer, and Mes Olivia Jessamyn, who has been appointed City Matchmaker, and is already busying herself trying to find mates for those Hydrans that need them, before the deadline for marriage has been reached. She has asked that all single Hydrans of the appropriate age come to her, so that she may begin the process of her work.

Lord Gadiste N'Gato has stepped up, asking all craftsman, bourgeoisie, and artisans to seek sponsorship in an effort to safeguard and bolster the economy of our great marketplace. He has again cautioned that this winter will be a harsh one for our people, and stressed that only through cooperation could we thrive through it. To the same end, in preparation for winter, Mes Alee has begun crafting shoes, boots, and the like for those that need them to fight the bitter cold. She will even make silk slippers, if the silk is provided to her.

In news from His Honour, a clan quarry has been established at @coords -215.123, in the forested hills. Though most of the Hydran lands seem to yield only quartz, slate, and granite, there is a much greater need clay, marble, and obsidian. Any miner who can provide these materials will be compensated fairly, if he cannot afford to donate the minerals to the clan.

And don't forget to continue with your 'praise' for Belik and the enlightened leadership he offers us! We all know how tempting it is to 'diss' those people who have forced us to relocate here, and then tried to starve us with embargoes and restrictions on an ancient tradition of trade between the clans; particularly that pagan witch-Queen and her weak-spined husband.
