Payudos' Hydra Poop

VOLUME IV - November 18, 2001

This week started with a rather shocking incident involving a possible case of poisoning within the Palace Walls! Despite Mer Kalchus Jaldrish's insistance that he tested all the food that passed through the area, Lady Aldrissa has come down with a serious case of nerve damage, likely from the toxic plant, wolfsbane. There are whispers, however, from both at home and abroad, that the woman brought this unhealthy affliction upon herself, in an effort to rid herself of some... Impurity.

Nevertheless, the ex-priestess of Eesha has cloistered herself away after seeking treatment, proclaiming that she knew the true glory of Zutiv at last, and had found the err in her paganistic ways. We can only hope this to be the truth.

Whatever the case, His Honour Belik has pronounced that for the next few weeks, a curfew has been imposed. Guards now patrol the streets in more force than before, all night; any person found outside after sundown will be escorted back to their homes promptly. Should it be more than an hour after sunset, they will be escorted to the jailhouse instead, to await questioning in the morning. His Honour wishes only to protect us with this edict, and not to tie our hands - such is evident in the fact that emergency exceptions can be made, by a guard of Centurion level or higher, though they should thereafter be reported to Governor Quadeem.

Additionally, any crowd of people larger than twenty individuals gathered together in the street is to be dispersed, to maintain justice and order in these trying times. Worry not, Hydrans! These dictates are only temporary!

On a happier note, His Honour has opened a Public Wood Working Shop for the use of all our clan; there are already some carpenter's tools located there to accomodate both clan and personal needs.

Now that winter is upon us and the snow is falling, there are snowmen and snow-other-things dotting the Arinzian landscape. The spartan populace is not so much used to the decorations, but the Anarinuell refugees have taught them a thing or two about winter-time leisure. The coldest of seasons is by no means all fun and games, however. We did gloriously well the last season, despite some of our needs going un-met, and if we push as hard during the winter, the spring shall be a time of joyful appreciation rather than backbreaking labour.

One of the Clan's most respected carpenters, Mes Serra Zuriaki, is in need of two lengths of good quality rope, and about 500 feathers, to complete a bed that has been commissioned. If anyone can help her out in these pursuits, contact her via messenger. Additionally, if you're still in need of lodgings aside from the Insulae, feel free to rent some farm land from the N'gadanik family, upon which you may build a home of your own! All interested should hurry to contact Quadeem or his sons, however, as the spring will likely hold few spots still open!

Again I remind you to continue in your 'praise' of His Honour, as those heathens in other parts of the Firan realms still denounce his strong leadership and firmness of morality.
