Payudos Hydra Poop
Volume 3
Hello Hydrans! In this third and belated edition of the Hydra Poop newsletter, I will begin with a poll of sorts. It has been a tradition of mine to publish these bulletins weekly, but I am aware that many other clans only receive monthly bulletins. I ask you this question, then, to find your preference. Since this is YOUR newsletter, I'd like to know what you think. Please @mail me with your preference on the clan newsletter - should it be a weekly, biweekly, or monthly thing? Please have your answer to me by Sunday.
Now, on to the news! Lady Rasha N'Gato and Lord Orestes Rissik were married this Monday February 21 in the True Temple of Zutiv. A great crowd attended the wedding, as it drew notables from Arinzi as well as a number of pagans, who were offering their prayers in the home of the One True God at last. A great reception was held at the Rissik Estate afterwards which was attended by a great many people. Father Rasmus Montigo lead the ceremony and did a fine job. The lady has since moved into the Chimera district but remains a Hydra and now is waiting for the birth of her first two children, the second of which will be a Hydra and a N'Gato. Let us pray that it is a suitable (male) addition!
Speaking of Rasmus brings us to another bit of news - our own Mes Irina Rianavalu is now promised to him as wife, and they will be wed soon in the capital.
Also, Rasha suggests these folks for praising: "Letitia, for quickly making lovely cakes for the wedding when a cook couldn't be found in time. Even single mothers care about the clan's honour. Rasmus, for conducting a true Monotheistic ceremony in front of over a dozen pagans. Rodellos, for being a fantastic proxy and arranging such a fruitful marriage for the clan (remember the trade concessions the Chimera has offered the Hydra in return)."
In somewhat bizarre news, Father Corunos found an abandoned child and kept it for three weeks, until Mer Sarus was alerted. He claimed little Jamian as a relative of his, and we are all glad that the boy is safe.
Although many Arinzians wintered in Anarinuell to attend Lady Rasha's wedding, the clan capital's streets were not entirely bare. A few gaps remain in the city's walls, and the countryside's wild game -- who must value tradition no less than the clan itself -- obstinately tromp onto half-enclosed tracts in search of food. Arinzi's men still hold the northwest corner's grasslands, captured from roving gangs of elk last fall. This season, Captain Kasikonus Jessamyn, Mer Sarus Emarinsari, and Guvekon have taken the war to the beasts' strongholds north and east of the city. In a few lightning raids, the city's defenders have won enough meat to fill the clan warehouses for six months. But the war is far from over! Until the wild herds have been culled enough to roam only their own territory, reinforcements would be most welcome. A season-long hunting holiday is a dirty job, but hey -- it's all for His Honor and the glory of the clan.
And that concludes the bulletin for this week. As always, if you have suggestions about the format or content, please feel free to @mail me. It belongs to all of us!
