THE ARINZI? EXAMINER
Beginning and End of the War
The Hydran Civil War finally erupted one evening in front of the IstaBelik Mansion in the District. Guardsmen and soldeirs of the Clan loyal to the Renegade Regent Gadiste attempted to storm the place, with the intention of capturing Lady Senika, His Honor Belik's widow, to take her to Arinzi where she was to be forcibly married to Gadiste. As soon as the traitors had assembled, Centurion Hugo Rianavalu stormed out of the Mansion to lead the guards loyal to Rodellos, the True Regent. It was a long and bloddy contest, and many good and brave men were lost, but Hugo and his men prevailed, assisted by Sentry Dryopi and some timely reinforcements from the air: Trachi, Nicolos, Nazeera and Ronti.
Shortly after, Acting Regent Quadeem N'Gadiniste ordered those Hydran soldiers still loyal to Rodellos toward the frontline, where they would assemble with the Republic army already besieging the city of Arinzi. Shortly after they left, the ragtag group of malcontents returned to the Mansion and once again tried to force entry. Commander Abderus Mageeran and Eejus Emarinsari were there to defend it, but both men were severly injured in the resulting fray. Yet, once again, the Will of Lord Father Zutiv was shown, and their men were the victors.
And, in a classicaly executed move which will henceforth be know as the N'Gato Gambit, Lord Rodellos and the loyal Hydran navy, set out from dock in Kenirugor, attacked and sunk many ships commanded by his outcats brother Pavan, who perished in the sea.
When Father and Son met, it was a struggle which will be remebered until the end of our days. Our Lord was on the losing end, but some timely betrayal (or was it a change of heart?) by Lady Sarcia Ista Aldrik allowed Rodellos to gain an upper hand. While the Lady absconded with young Lord Amenik, Father and Son resumed their fight, which was ultimately won by Rodellos, with the loss of use of his right arm.
The Traitors so demoralized by the death of their leader, the Republic army finally swept in and mopped up their remnant, claiming victory for themselves. Gold Dragon soldiers, who make up the bulk of the Republic military, went a step further by claiming that the victory was solely decided by them.
Lord Amenik is safely returned to us now, and Rodellos is once again his undisputed Regent. Gadiste's body was brought back home to await the Trial of Soul-Death.
Also returned was Father Piarres Rianavalu, who faced several charges related to treason for his speech in favor of Gadiste. Lord Rodellos convicted him to death, but the Father asked for Quarter under the Holy Laws of Zutiv. He is now sentenced to serve on the frontline in Ellish for the next four season, and he also faces an Inquisition.
A dispute arose surrounding the Trial for Gadiste's soul. Our Lord Regent asked that his father's body be rendered unto the Hydran True Temple to await it's fate, but Father Rasmus Montigo and His Honor Jalil were adamant that /they/ were the ones to handle this. It all stems from Jalil's judgement that Rasmus is the High Priest of Zutiv, not Javier. After some wrangling, the body was indeed returned to our Temple.
To make Rodellos' life even harder, Hugannelli Rianavalu broke off his marriage to Mes Zeezee, cousin of Dragon Clan Proxy Lord Atreides Keniwik, and announced his desire to marry his ex-wife Dantana. Hugo had his sponsorship by Lady Hattie dropped, spent some time in jail, and was sentenced to a week in the stocks, beaten until unconscious by Rodellos himself (Good going, Lefty ;) ), and was ordered to pay one million stenis to both Zeezee and Eejus Emarinsari, who was to be married to Dantana in the future, as well as repaying Zeezee for the cost of the wedding. In the end, after his time incarcerated, Rodellos gave Hugo leave to remarry Dantana in six months, citing the sanctity of family and how it should be preserved if at all possible.
Captain Kasikonus Jessamyn married Mes Keleena yesterday evening at the True Temple, the ceremony being presided by the Captain's brother Father Javier. A party was held afterward in the Lord Regents home. Let us all wish them the best of luck and true happiness under His Light, and may they be blessed with many strong children.
The Mighty Hydra Clan is not doing so well in the Olympics. Though our teams place -decently-, we are overall LAST! in the standings! (At least we can always claim that we were too busy with a CIVIL WAR! to prepare for them)The only event of note happened during the Archery contest. Lady Rasha Rissik Made a bad judgement in her aim and accidently hit Dame Urtenia of the Ticanee Clan. At least another war was averted with timely intervention of gifts to the old Savage Sharanis.
Lord High General Katarus N'Gato has finally returned, albeit a bit late for the Civil War, to resume his command of the Hydran Military. After spending so much time away, the Lord may need a hand in readjusting to life in the city. All soldiers enlisted in the Clan Military are to report to him as soon as possible so that he may re-evaluate their service and reorganize the command structure.
Rodellos has his cook back! Mes Anorna has finally come to Anarinuell from Arinzi to make sure his belly is full while he recuperated his strength. Watch out, Rodellos, or you may just be getting fat soon.
All PRAISES to Lord Regent Rodellos and Lord Proxy Quadeem for their leadership in our victory! Both men were peronally involved in the fighting, both sustained injuries, and both showed honor. Also, some kind words to Vadeem Mageeran, our Olympic coordinator this year. Though we haven't done so well yet, it's still a hard job and he nonetheless deserves praise for his work.
DISSES to Father Rasmus and His Honor Jalil! For shame, the thought that they alone can interpret the Will of Zutiv and who should be his High Priest. That is the right of the Religious Council and the Clan Council. (Praises and Disses are to be used at your discretion. These are merely suggestions, and if it is not IC for your character to do this, then do not.)
The OOC Lowdown
Okay, for those of you who might be RPing with Rodellos, help him keep in mind that he is now without the use of his right arm. One way to reinforce it for him is to use, strictly Out Of Character, a dandy nickname for him. I myself prefer Koufax (Sandy Koufax, for those who don't know, was a pitcher for the Brooklyn Dodgers, and left-handed) but such epithets as Lefty, Southpaw, and Clumsy are also appropriate. (Sorry, Boss, I just /had/ to add this. ;) )
Katarus posted on our board that all members of the Clan military are to @mail him and give him details of your employment: Rank (Sentry-Centurion-Commander-Captain-General), Who pays you (Katarus or Rodellos), who your Commanding Officer is (who you directly report to), and how much steni for what amount of ERP. Adding other details of your military employment will also help him out. (For example, Abderus is our Armorer/Weaponsmith, and I'm in charge of Recruit Training).
I would still like to put up a sign in front of the Hydran True Temple detailing who's who and what they do for the Clan. Let me know via @mail or page the relevant skills and vocation you have so that we might better acquaint our newer players on how to get things.
