The Hydran Herald
Good morning and welcome to the very first addition of The Hydran Herald! The format may change a little as I get more used to writing it, and get better ideas of how to place things and what to put in or leave out. If anyone wants to see a particular section added, perhaps someone may want to do an advice column, or a gossip section, just @mail me. I'm here to listen to all of your ideas.
IC News and Events
In the Hydran District, the Childcare center is now open again. The recent reopening was hosted by ladies Rasha and Yolette. They were assisted by Lady Hattie and Mes Alee.
Recently there were great winds that swept through the city, tearing up trees and damaging many homes and businesses. Many people flock to the temples to pray for the forgiveness of our one true God. For those in need of any assistance, the Soup Kitchen and the Judano Firgalik Medical center in the Gold Dragon district are both open and available for those who need them. Lord High General Katarus has taken charge of the Hydra district cleanup. Zutiv's temple is available to those whose homes has been lost or damaged, as well as the grounds of the N'gato estate.
It has been heard that Lord Pertinax was attacked in his own home by Mer Entowo , resulting in the bonduun's death.
Everyone watch your children closely. There's a nasty thing some people are calling the Children's Pox, and other's are calling it Uf's pox. Regardless of the name, it seems to be only affecting children. Symptoms are small itchy red bumps. If your child has these, they should be quarantined right away as not to spread the bumps. Is this another sign from Zutiv? Have our children been wrong?
The Diplomat Inn is officially re-opened. There will be a party to celebrate this on *rl, Friday, Feb 27 @9:30 pm est*
A new horse racing season has begun! Hosted again by Lord Trikon. Those interested should contact him for more information, or go to the royal Amphitheater where he has posted the rules.
A dastardly plot was uncovered by faithful investigators, guards and information given by concerned citizens. It seems that the ongoing feud between Lord Porfirio and Lord Eneas has driven then both to the edge of sanity. Unbeknownst to each other, each one was attempting to hire and assassin to kill the other. Also revealed was Lord Porfirio's plan to assassinate Commander Pentheus and General Firuell to get ahead in the 1st division. In their trial, both were found guilty of the crimes of insubordination, conspiracy and attempted murder. In speeches by both the Eagle clan and the Cockatrice clans, both men were stripped of nobility, Eneas also being removed from the Iberik family. He will die a commoner, so sayth Lord Yaffros. Their sentences: to be hanged.
New Toys and Docs
The @bodyguards command is now taking the right price for all guards. Each guard will cost 500 stenis for 24 hours. So, 2 guards would be 1000 stenis per IC day.
The building freeze is now thawed!! Be sure to carefully read over 'Help Thematic Building and Help construction price list' before requesting any construction projects. Be kind to your friendly wizards and help staff, it takes time to build up a city!
Ever wonder what 'Red Dragon' was? Wonder no more. See News red dragon for more info.
Fresh off the Roster.
Please welcome both Benetto and Aleria to the clan. Rumor has it that when Benetto returned from Arinzi, women swooned and throw flowers at his sexy body. These rumors have yet to be confirmed however, so please do not go rushing out to his house. He does have a wife and kids at home.
Praise and Diss candidates.
Remember to keep all disses and praise IC for your character and remember the alt conflict rules. These are merely suggestions and not something you have to partake in. Praises: Yolette and Rasha for re-opening the childcare center in the Hydra district. And Hattie and Alee for their assistance. Disses: I would suggest Porfirio and Eneas for their outrageous behavior of trying to kill each other.
That's it for this week. I've tried as best I could to include everything that's happened since the last newsletter was posted. I may have missed a few events. I purposely didn't include the Olympics, figuring that the newsletter was going to be long enough. :) Remember, if there's anything else you want to see added in here, @mail is my best friend.
