Overview
Iona, for her age, is still just shy of womanhood emotionally. She is innocent, dreamy and sweet, an excellent listener who is kind to people and animals, and always willing to help. She is also soft-hearted and harsh words can make her cry. Instead of standing up for herself, though, she just tries harder to better herself, even if the criticism was unjust. It is only when the subject is religion and her Goddess Uf that she will stand for her beliefs, which seem to be set in stone. She's a little clumsy in a cute way, a bit naive and susceptible to con artists. She's also very devoted to her family, which she loves, cares and worries about. Over the years she has gotten some grey hairs that she calls by name, most of them 'Hufimo', but she isn't ashamed of them as each tell a tale, a piece of her family's history even if most aren't very pleasing ones.

Siblings
Malvina - Malvina was Iona's oldest sister and her mother-substitute. She was very responsible but fun when she wanted to be. Iona so didn't agree when she decided to marry an elikian, but her sister refused to hear her and if obviously ended badly. Later she found happiness with a Griffon, Artaro, but it didn't last long as she was accused of being associated with a conspiracy and executed. Iona would like to believe her sister was innocent, but treason is a serious thing, and Iona keeps quiet about it.
Charissa - Iona was always a little afraid of her older sister, even though she was only two years older. Charissa was witty and fun but she seemed to have a careless outlook on life, and a mean streak that Iona dreaded. But she never thought that she would be as bad as she revealed herself to be. In 24 A.U., Charissa was caught in the act of attempted murder, and killed.
Nazlo - Iona loves her older brother dearly. He's a lot like her: quiet, introspective. And he's very sweet once you get past the shyness. He has had bad luck with women, his first one turning into a man for a time, his second falling victim to the Red Bloom. Iona prays her brother will find happiness.
Jacinto - Iona's youngest brother, he never knew his mother since she died giving birth to him, and Iona felt a special motherly love for him because of that. He was always troublesome and often seen with people of dubious reputations. One year after Charissa attempted the murder of Taleo Teranzik, Jacinto disappeared to never be heard of again. She often remembers him, in particular because her father seems to think that her son Hufimo reminds him of Jacinto which makes her very nervous.
Marriage
Rafi was one of Iona's few male friends even before he became her husband. They got married on the spur of the moment and had a nice quiet relationship since then. She loves him dearly, as he's a good, kind, loving husband, but due to her health and near death experiences... she's very hesitant to display her affection in an... Intimate nature. His nick name for her is Apple, due to her red blushing fits he likes to induce with his behaviour. They would rarely see one another when he was still a guard due to their schedules, but they always tried to spend SOME time together. Now they spend more quality time than before, not only because he has retired but because his children allow them to have more time to themselves. And he doesn't mind her spending so much time with her temple duties, even if he doesn't understand all of the mystical things Iona does.
Children
Phaisia - The first child of Rafi and Iona's was born on November 21, 22 A.U. and was named after Lady Phaidra Ista Barun. Iona's pride and joy, Phaisia is blessed by both Uf and Kamnestra. She wants to invent new things, especially a flying 'machine'. She adores learning about nearly everything, in fact one of her goals is to one day know everything, at least everything she finds interesting, so it wasn't a big surprise when she became an assistant teacher at the Academy and maybe one day she will become the head teacher or even a minister. A mother could not be more proud.
Hufimo - Iona's only son was born on February 5, in 24 A.U., and in the precise day that the chimera burnt the compound and as he was giving his first breath, many were giving their last. Even Iona almost lost her life during the birthing, though thanks Uf, she didn't. Her father always said he reminds him of Jacinto, probably for being so troublesome. She doesn't like the comparison. But she can see in him the same zealous faith for Uf that she has, and the same desire for adventure as his father. She just hopes that he will eventually settle down. She worries about his future or possible lack of it.
Nasrena - she was a surprise baby, born a good 9 months after Rafi and Iona were a bit careless and missed one another a little too much. After almost losing her life once, Iona was very scared of giving birth again but it was surprisingly easy and Nasrena is a strong healthy girl who loves to run around after her father. She's nigh angelic save when she has her flash flare tantrums. She's loud and noisy when she wants to be -- her father's daughter without a doubt and his little 'princess'.
