The Istabelik Family traces its roots to old noble blood, leading through the first Hydra Clan Leader, Belik. For many years Belik (d) never remarried after the death of his first wife (despite the nervous insistance of his people), and the death of his two children left him without any immediate heirs. There are those genealogy experts who would explain that Aldrik, brother of Belik, (who should call to mind the Ista Aldrik Family) is every bit as much descended from this Royal House, and therefore, all of her children are also a part of it, but the Firans like to try to keep their family trees as distinct as possible, and so it is a happy event that Belik, previously the last of the Royal House of the Hydra, finally married young Senika Junik. They had three children, a daughter Seliana, who was kidnapped, a sickly son named Amenik, who was kept under close guard at all times, and another daughter, Selia. They also adopted two commoners into the family, Seriss and Amelika.
Belik, legendary leader of the Hydra Clan died of old age in late 28 A.U., leaving young Amenik as his heir. In 31 A.U. Amenik was named Head of House for his family, and the Hydrans expect great things to come from their Clan Leader. To date and of note, Amenik has instituted a Warrior Code, making the Hydrans very much a warrior society, emphasizing manhood and strength through all trials and tribulations.
Young Seriss grew into a fine warrior, marrying Aleria and having a child, Adren (d). Many Hydrans followed his example. Scandal grew when Seriss defied Clan Leader Amenik's order and sided with the enemy, the Blood Dragons. Seriss was put to death on the Stone of Redemption and the Royal Family dissolved all connections to Seriss & his family. Clan Leader Amenik declared no orphan shall be adopted by the Istabelik Family.
Clan Leader Amenik soon forged a marriage with the Lady Gemella. Together they had four children, Adelik, Aethryik, Amelia and Ariella. Unfortunately, Gemella died while birthing their fourth child, Ariella. The Clan mourned for numerous years. Time healed wounds, one assumed, and Amenik remarried, this time to Jaline Firgalik of the Gold Dragon Clan. Perhaps it was time, too, that Amenik altered his ruling regarding adoptions. Now the Istabeliks may adopt orphans, but the child will be a commoner instead of a noble.
In regards to Lady Selia, early on, she had a marriage prospect to the Clan Leader of the Gold Dragons, Jalil Firgalik. The differences in ages, unfortunately, severed the courtship and Selia was left without a marriage prospect. It was by Gemella's influence that peace negotiations began with the Eagle Clan. Lady Selia would marry Tarnot Iberik and Kassia N'Gato would marry Tarnot's older brother, Talion. Selia's and Tarnot's marriage grew to love and the two have three children, Temella, Terrik and Telgus.
