Overview

An upper middle-class Hydran family, the Jaldrish clan keeps a low profile generally speaking after some incidents that put a black mark upon their family name. For example, Kalchus Jaldrish (43) was convicted of heresy in his youth for being caught worshipping pagan gods at the polytheistic temples in the palace district. He was offered mercy, however, and pardoned in exchange for his working as the royal taster at the Istabelik mansion. He was head of security for the Istabelik family until he fell into another scandal after which Clan Leader Amenik gave him one year to find another vocation.

The family was led ostensibly by the grandparents, both Jaldrish parents having been captured by the shamibelians and presumed dead. However, since their deaths, Kalchus has taken over the responsibility of the family as head of household. He married a woman by the name of Themissa and they had two children: a daughter Kalissa (17) and their son Tydean (15). Feeling that their son needed another sister to tease him into becoming a stronger man, the couple adopted Zutriana (15).

Mes Polyxena (42) married out of the family to Mer Abderus Mageeran.

Her younger sister, Letitia (38), is rumored to be wild and uncontrollable by Hydran standards. She had been kicked out of the family home at one time, but has since married Brother Benetto Rianavalu.

Mes Opalina Jaldrish (40) is known as a sweet woman, but clumsy and unlucky with love.

Soon after her Ceremony of Soul, Kalchus's eldest daughter was married to Brother Belikos Jessamyn and has since had two daughters, Gemelika and Lisella.
