Overview

Judano was the Clan Leader of the Gold Dragon Clan before Jalil. Middle brother of Elianos, General Judano felt like he was always in the shadow of something and was always seeking approval or feeling rebuffed. He was one of those characters who is good at everything but not excellent in any one area. He did, however, redeem himself in the end. He was a cautious and composed person, generally speaking. When he fought, he chose his battles, he waited for his advantage, and he fought to win. With time, Judano became increasingly sarcastic, and even though he had the arrogance that only a member of his bloodline can have, Judano was usually the target of his own humor. He was extremely self-deprecating -- as if to dull his own pain by making it funny. He was known as a saavy ruler and deeply religious.

Family Life

Siblings

Judano had five siblings. Elianos, Ranivor and founder of the Chimera Clan -- he is currently off with the heroes. Zeena. Trannos (deceased), son of Mosa. Bannos, once-Clan Leader of the Cockatrice clan. Son of Mosa. -- he is currently off with the heroes. Lannos (deceased), son of Mosa.

Parents

Judano's parents were Firgalas and Mosa. Mosa had three children by another marriage (to Lanester, who was also married to Judano's love interest, Tazi) -- Bannos, Trannos, and Lannos.

Judano's father, Firgalas, was revered by hundreds of thousands and hated by hundreds of thousands. He was Chieftan of the Clan of the "Mighty" Gold Dragon for about three decades and hailed as a crafty and glorious leader who expanded the territory of the Gold Dragon Clan (at the expense of the Clan of the Griffon). He also won the title of High Priest of the Firans. This was an honorific title enabling him to set religious policy for the Clan Council.

Years ago, in Caldera City, Firgalas was seen stabbed to death by a woman who looked like Mosa, a man who looked like Lanester, and a man who looked like Bannos. These reports are fuddled at best.

Spouse

Judano never publically married. After he died, Queen Sabine told a tale of Judano and Tazi in which they were secretly wed.

Children

Judano had but one known child. Jalil Firgalik, formerly Jalil Corinala. He is the son of Tazi and Judano, born a Griffon. He was not known to be Judano's son until after the Clan Leader died.

Accomplishments

Saving Princess Inaya

Saving the Princess Inaya, who had been kidnapped by a Shamibelian at Prince Solgarik's wedding, would be Judano's final accomplishment. When the rescuers found the Princess they were beset by a hoard of furious Shamibelians, and it wasn't until the party managed to escape to relative safety that they discovered two people were missing -- a sentry named Palasion, and Judano himself. Unable to muster the strength and manpower needed to go back and look for him, the party returned to the city with heavy hearts. Several days later, Elianos revealed that the Shamibelians had sent him a horrific gift - the head of his brother, Judano, Clan Leader of the Gold Dragon Clan, forever lost to the realms of Aerval.

Enemies

Griffons

Simply by virtue of being a Gold Dragon, Judano was faced with Griffons who did not particularly care for him.

Scandals

Marrying Tazi

Judano met Tazi, a member of the Griffon Clan's royal family (and future clan leader herself), when she came to deliver the staff of the High Priest(ess) of the Firan realms to the Gold Dragon clan. Clan Leader Corista was afraid to deliver it himself, so he chose his young pregnant sister (who had been recently widowed) instead, hoping that not even the hardest of hearts could slaughter a pregnant innocent. When Tazi arrived in Anarinuell, Judano was immediately struck with love. He offered to escort her back and when she went into labor, he helped deliver her first born son, Judanarius. They met again at a Spring Festival and were secretly married -- they knew that if they wed publically, there would be war. Eventually, however, the secret came out. Firgalas, Judano's father, forbade all contact. But Tazi was already pregnant. She was quickly married to Lanester, the Cockatrice, and the pair were forced to love each other from afar.

The child that was born of Tazi and Judano's brief marriage was none other than Jalil.

Proclaiming Jalil his Son

Jalil Corinala, later to become Clan Leader Jalil Firgalik, was born out of a union of true love and not revealed until after Judano died. The Clan Leader had left no heir to the throne, no children, no son. Until it was revealed that Jalil was, in fact, the only son of Judano. He came into the Gold Dragon clan, took the medallion and the throne, and squelched any and all rebellions that occurred because of it. He was often noted as that "Griffon bastard" throughout his reign.
