Overview

Overview: Kadia was born on April 4th, 30 A.U. to Kachina Firona and Madix Cellini. The youngest of four, Kadia was very different from her older sisters. She was niether violent, nor rude, nor tomboyish. She was very proper, kept herself clean and put together. Another thing that set her apart from her family, and the rest of the denizens of the Old City, was the fact that she is highly religious, to the point of being somewhat fanatical about it. In a quiet and proper way of course.

Early History

Born into the Old City's neighborhoods, Kadia grew into a family that never was near her in a sense of personality. Fiery and feisty her family was, Kadia grew up a prim and proper young woman, something almost unheard of in this area. Kadia was also the youngest of all four members of her family, and seemed to even grow up to be the smallest. In either case, Kadia's grown to become quite the woman, partaking in most things that would seem strange to her sisters. Pallas and stoles? Not for the other Firona Three. They are all armored and appear more like men than women, or anything close to resembling women. In either case though, Kadia's mother, Kachina, always seemed to be adopting people, unofficially. They always had more and more people living in their home than Kadia could keep track of.

Recent History

Once Kadia had her Ceremony Of Souls, everything seemed to change for the young woman. Instead of being barred by the fact she was the only proper thing in the household; she moved out, a year later, and moved into the Old City's Temple. She would spend hours a day here, contemplating and embracing her beliefs. Specifically, those with Unot. Speaking of Unot, Kadia become an Initiate of Unot after her ceremony, quickly taking to the God who is the giver and guardian of the souls of the Firan People. Along with this, Kadia went and joined the military. An Old City member in the military? Without a judgment against them? Well, Kadia did just that. She became a healer in the Fifth Division, falling under Sentry Odoni Istanar.

Personality & Beliefs

Kadia is a sweet-tempered girl of the Old City, loving its freedom while understanding the harshness of life there and the disdain of the city walls beyond. She keeps to herself and does not speak out often but when she does, she demonstrates an eloquence of speech uncommon for someone her age. Kadia loves her family dearly but is determined to be her own person as she grows up, not a miniature version of any of her sisters. She is ready to sing and dance at a moment's notice, but at times she can become very quiet and fade into the background like an observing shadow, listening to whatever is going on around her. Kadia believes, fervently and radically, that she is destined to occupy a particular place in life, and is determined to do whatever needs to be done to carry out her mission.

Ranks & Offices

Sentry in the Fifth Division, Healers.

Family Life

Parents

Kachina: Kadia's mother died when she was still very young, so Kadia only has what her sisters say about her to go on. She was as improper as Kadia is proper, but a good person and strong in her love for the Old City. Kadia has vague memories of her, and she hopes that Unot has given her soul to a good person who can find happiness.

Madix: Madix is Kadia's world....and her world is dead. Her father no longer is around to make her feel safe and loved, no..now his soul has been sent to Unot, and she's got a 62 million or so stenis debt because of what he did. She still loves him, because he's her father, but she's also very heart broken about the entire situation. She's no longer Daddy's little girl..and no longer has his protection.

Siblings

Niobe: Niobe is the oldest, the leader, the surrogate mother. She's also a thug and pretty crude. Kadia loves her, but just doesn't get her sometimes. Of course, since Niobe basically raised the rest of them, Kadia guesses that would make anyone a little weird. Niobe's kids live with Kadia and it's weird not being the baby. And they're noisy.

Geloe: Out of all of her family, Kadia is closest to Geloe. They're both quiet. They're both something of oddities among Old City folk. Geloe's quiet is a sullen brooding quiet, but she understands... well... almost anything. Growing up, the two would play quietly together for hours, communicating, but not saying a word. It broke Kadia's heart when Geloe moved out of the house, but she escapes to visit her sister every chance she gets.

Kandara Kandara is closest to Kadia in age, and farthest from her in ideology. Kandara is more fiery tempered than Niobe, more ready to bash faces in with blunt objects. Her idea of dressing well is a tunic that's mostly clean. Kadia is wise enough to know, however, that pointed in the right direction, Kandara will be her staunchest protector.

Scandals & Failures

With the conscription of her father, Madix, into the Republic's Military, life seemed that when he went to war and such, things would be great. No, this was not to be the case. Madix died during the war of 42 A.U. and it was clearly shown he was still into his thieving ways. Prince General Argin Elianik came forth and proclaimed Madix's debt was now his children's.

Argin made the following judgment on Firan time: 11:28:16 PM on Sat Feb 27, in the year 43 A.U.: Prior to war season, Mer Madix Cellini and Mer Khristos were judged in this court for their crimes of theft. They were each fined a sum of 250 million stenis for the outrageous amount of goods they managed to steal from the Gold Dragon clan. And since it was highly improbable that either of them would ever be able to pay their fines, they were conscripted into the military for fifty years or until death - whichever came first. Well, they are both dead. My stipulation was that if Mer Khristos and Mer Madix served the Republic heroically and dutifully until death, their debt would be nullified. If not, it would pass to their families. Mer Khristos died while engaged in a scouting mission during the Ellish Campaign. The reports I received showed the man in a favorable light. He carried out his duties honorably until his death. His sacrifice was, perhaps, what guaranteed the safe return of a Republic officer and nobleman who was also on that mission. In light of his service, I find that Mer Khristos has paid his debt to society. The remainder of his 250 million stenis debt is nullified. He shall be honored as a fallen soldier. I am told that Mer Madix's body was only recently recovered. He was found with an arrow in his back. Perhaps he was fleeing from battle. We cannot know for certain. However, what we do know was that he was found in possession of evidence which suggests he maintained his thieving, despicable ways right up until his death. Where Mer Khristos embraced his conscription as an opportunity to turn over a new leaf, it seems that Mer Madix learned nothing. He lived as a criminal, and he died as one. Therefore, I find that Mer Madix has /not/ fulfilled the terms of his judgment. His fine shall pass to his children, of which I am told he has four. Mes Niobe Istems, Mes Geloe Firona, Mes Kandara Firona, and Mes Kadia Firona shall share the burden of their father's disgrace. They shall be fined equal portions of the outstanding debt, minus Mer Madix's 9 months of military service at sentry's pay. The remaining total is 249,932,500 stenis. Divided four ways, that is 62,483,125 stenis each. For the sake of record keeping and out of generosity, I shall round that down to 62 million stenis each. The children of Mer Madix have five years from today to pay their fines. If they are unable, they will be conscripted into the Republic military until the remaining portions are paid off, or until they die. Alternatively, if the children of Mer Madix find, retrieve, and present to the Republic the wealth of stolen goods which are rumored to be buried somewhere near Ellish, their debt will be considered paid.

Enemies

Allies

Daemio: In addition to being her sponsor, he's also been something of a friend. Despite his waller, noble, guard status, she's pretty loyal, and he's gone against fairly intimidating individuals for her since her father died.

Sariben: While it's certainly an us against them mentality when it comes to the Old City vs. Wallers, Kadia and Sariben are also vastly different from the rest of the Old City. As such, she's rather protective of her childhood friend.
